Swim Coaches Announce All-America Awards

2024 NCAA Division II All-Americans
 
RICHMOND, Va.– The College Swimming and Diving Coaches' Association of America (CSCAA) made it official on Monday as they announced the 2024 All-America teams for the NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving season.
 
The Colorado School of Mines Men's and Women's Swimming teams' combined performances during last week's NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships helped the Orediggers produce six all-America finishes. Four individuals and one relay combined for one CSCAA First-Team All-America award and five CSCAA Second-Team All-America awards. First-Team All-Americans are the top eight finishers in each event at nationals, and Second-Team All-America distinction goes to finishers nine through 16.
 
Jordan Tierney led the Orediggers by claiming national bronze and First-Team All-America in the 100-breast. Her prelims time of 1:01.73 with a 28.89 split broke the program's 50-breast and 100-breast records. Annie Osmun was Second-Team All-America for the Oredigger women as well, finishing 12th in the nation in the 100-fly with a time of 54.78. Tierney and Osmun, along with Kerrigan Hemp and Jorie Selig rounded out the women's awards with a Second-Team All-America finish in the 400-medley relay. They stopped the clock at 3:44.68 to take 13th in the nation.
 
For Mines' men, Ronan Lauinger raced to two Second-Team All-America finishes. He was 14th in all of NCAA Division II in the 500-free after breaking his own program record in prelims. Lauinger's time in finals was 4:28.24. The Virginia native also finished 15th in the nation in the 400-IM following a program-record prelims in that event as well. His record time was 3:53.49 with a finals mark of 3:55.19. Finally, for the third time in his career, Charles Burroughs was Second-Team All-America in the 200-fly thanks to a 1:48.93 on the way to a 16th-place finish.
 
Oredigger swimming closed its season at the national meet with the women finishing 25th in the team standings and the men tying for 34th. Any additional postseason awards and signing announcements will be posted at www.minesathletics.com and on social media.
