Mines Has Solid Start In Las Vegas

Making their spring season debut, #19 Colorado School of Mines is in the mix after two rounds at the Las Vegas Desert Classic, led by senior Ethan Adam in the top 20.

The tournament played 36 holes on Monday after Sunday's first round was postponed due to high winds. The weather cooperated on Monday with six teams at even par or better, led by #2 Lincoln Memorial at -11; the Orediggers sit seventh in the 20-team field at +6 after identical rounds of 291.

Adam slipped under par for the second time this season in his second round, building on his morning 72 to shoot 71 and be tied for 19th overnight. He sits two shot ahead of Max Lange, who is T24 at +1  bouncing back from a first-round 75 with a two-under 70 after lunch.

Lukas Taggart had Mines' lowest round of the day at 69, but gave back his gains in the second round with a 79 to wind up at +4 in a tie for 45th. Theodore Reitter shot 75-76 (+7) to be T63 as a counter in both rounds, while Owen Cornmesser recovered from his first-round 80 to card 74 in the second round to be +10 (T79). 

Colorado Christian's Adam Duncan and CSU Pueblo's Jamie Roberts are tied for the individual lead at -8.

Tuesday's final round will tee off at 8 a.m. PT with the Orediggers paired in foursomes with #3 CSU Pueblo, #12 UT Permian Basin, and UT Tyler.
