D2 CCA All-South Central Region Teams
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Monday the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2 CCA) announced its All-Region Teams for softball and following a remarkable final season in the circle in which she was the regular season wins leader in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, Colorado School of Mines pitcher
Sadriena Rodriguez was named a Second Team All-South Central Region selection.
The selection is the first All-Region honor for a Mines player since Clara Larson in 2018.
A First Team All-RMAC honoree in 2024, Rodriguez followed up a breakout 2023 season with one just as good, if not better in 2024. The fifth-year pitcher out of Imperial, California made 30 appearances with 26 starts, posting a record of 18-9 with a 2.69 ERA with six shutouts and 16 complete games. Over 161.1 innings of work, she struck out 134 and allowed only 47 walks while holding opponents to a .248 batting average. The highlight of her season came on April 25 against Adams State, as she became the first Mines pitcher in more than a decade to throw a no-hitter and breaking the program single-game strikeout record in the process, fanning 14 Grizzlies including the final 10 she faced to set a new career-high in an 8-0 win in six innings.
She recorded career-best marks in the circle in 2024 in wins, appearances, starts, complete games, shutouts and innings pitched and ranked among the RMAC leaders in every major statistical metric for pitching over the course of the season while also fielding 1.000 over 32 chances defensively.
Rodriguez's career numbers stand among some of the best all-time at Mines. A four-time RMAC Pitcher of the Week and two-time All-RMAC honoree, she went 41-19 with three saves and a 2.71 ERA over 102 appearances with 61 starts covering 418.1 innings of work. 34 times she went the distance and 14 times she held the opposition off the scoreboard and recorded 376 strikeouts against just 155 walks while opponents batted a paltry .239 against her in nearly 2,000 plate appearances. Her 18 wins this season rank tied for fourth-most in a single season while she ranks second in program history in shutouts, fourth in strikeouts, wins and ERA and fifth in innings pitched.
Over the weekend, Rodriguez graduated with a graduate degree in Engineering & Technology Management after completing her undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering last May.
