LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) recently announced its list of All-America Scholar-Athletes presented by Easton and saw 17 members of the Colorado School of Mines softball program recognized for their efforts in the classroom during the 2023-24 season, while as a group Mines was honored as one of the top academic teams in the country.

To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must have achieved a 3.5 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale during the course of 2023-24 academic year. The NFCA recognized OVER 8,000 student-athletes in this year's program across all three levels of the NCAA, the NAIA, two-year colleges and all remaining four-year institutions, among them 1,510 student-athletes from Division II.

Trystin Oshiro-Sano and Sidney Wilson headlined the Mines honorees as both compiled a 4.0 GPA for the year as the rest of the group included Kendall Aragon, Kat Bauer, Cassidy Chvatal, Kayleigh Krueger, Sara Larson, Kat Miller, Kailey Morales, Hannah Roberts, Sadriena Rodriguez, E Self, Lexie Semeyn, Ellen Shull, Taylor Wayne, Allison Westbrook and Kate Whipple.

14 Orediggers recorded a GPA above 3.75 during the 2022-23 academic year as 13 players earned repeat honors from the NFCA. As a team Mines posted a cumulative GPA of 3.54, which ranked 52nd among Division II institutions recognized and was the only RMAC program that submitted information for recognition.

Back in May, 14 members of the Mines softball program earned academic honors from the RMAC, led by Miller and Wilson who were named to the First Team Academic All-Conference list.
