United Soccer Coaches Preseason Top 25 Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The first polls of the 2024 season came out Tuesday as the United Soccer Coaches Preseason top 25 was released and saw the Colorado School of Mines women's soccer team open up at #19 on the national stage.

Mines turned in a mark of 15-4-3 overall and 9-1-2 in RMAC action last season, advancing to the RMAC Tournament title match and earning hosting honors for the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship Opening Round for the second consecutive season. One of the toughest teams to score on in 2023, the Orediggers posted 10 consecutive shutouts from October 5-November 8 and allowed just 12 goals all season, led by RMAC Defensive Player of the Year Natalie Rouse. On the other side of the ball, Mines scored a league-leading 59 goals thanks in large part to the RMAC Player of the Year Reese McDermott and the Freshman of the Year Bella Campos, who combined for 27 goals with the latter leading the conference with 16.

Atop the poll sits defending national champion Point Loma followed by Washburn, Florida Tech, Adelphi and Gannon in the top five. RMAC rivals UCCS and Colorado Mesa, both of whom also advanced to the NCAA Tournament last season and split the league's regular season and tournament titles between them, checked in at #6 and #10 respectively.

Mines begins the season on Thursday September 5 at 11 a.m. PT as they'll be on the west coast with a trip to California, taking on San Francisco State on opening day before squaring off with Chico State Sunday September 8 at 11:30 a.m. PT. The following weekend September 12 and 15, the Orediggers open up play at Stermole Stadium against Lubbock Christian and West Texas A&M. Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play gets underway September 27 as part of homecoming weekend against UCCS.
