GOLDEN, Colo. – The Colorado School of Mines men's and women's swimmers officially opened their 2025-26 season Friday with a dual against Adams State at the Mines Natatorium. Outstanding performances and numerous debuts highlighted a 134-82 win for the men and a 92-44 margin in favor of the Oredigger women.

Racing began with the 200-medley relay. Mines' quartet of
Emi Jedryka,
Jordan Tierney,
Kylie VanderMeer, and
Michelle Murphy won it for the women in 1:48.29.
Jakson Winn,
Joe Hutchinson,
Charlie Krone, and
Lucas Waasdorp were first for the men thanks to a 1:35.36 clip. Next was the 1000-free.
Julie Gill clocked an 11:02.61 and
Lucas Hoke touched the wall at 10:03.63 for a women's and men's sweep. The 200-free saw
Ava LaBrose turn in a 1:57.05 and
Vladislav Kazakin stop the clock at 1:44.23. In the backstroke, Jedryka's 1:00.40 was the fastest women's time and
Jack Fulham's 53.27 led the men. The long-order program continued with
Anna Bream and
Joe Hutchinson winning the 100-breast.
Mikaela Khan and Krone were fastest in the 100-fly. Quick sprints won by Tierney and
Kevin Burns brought the meet to its first intermission.

After the break, VanderMeer and
Jakson Winn were winners in the 100-free. Then, Bream struck again the 200-back with
Reid Wilkerson best in the men's race. A daunting 200-breast finished with
Ava Burger and Fausto Angelone-Lopez touting the quickest pace. That brought one more distance test – the 500-free. Khan produced the fastest time in the women's race – 5:20.96.
Nathan Moss had the best pace in the men's race at 4:56.11. The 100-fly brought the event into the final break after a 59.13 from
Jennifer Pierson and a 51.62 churned out by Krone. Following the reprieve, Bream won the women's 400-IM,
Evan Angeline was fastest in the same men's event. Finally,
Sophia Cristal, Pierson,
Eden Addison and VanderMeer stopped the block at 3:38.95 in the women's 400-freestyle relay. Krone,
Joseph Lev-Tov, Kazakin, and Winn paddled out to 3:14.34 in the men's relay.

While Mines had the fastest time in every race on Friday, the true highlights were debuts in a Mines uniform. The following people recorded their first race as an Oredigger – in order of appearance:
