COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Following a weekend sweep to close out a four-match stint away from home, Colorado School of Mines women's soccer players Natalie Rouse and Allie Lundgren have been named the league's Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Week respectively.

For Rouse, the weekly honor is the eighth of her career and second this season (Sept. 9) while for Lundgren, it is the fourth time in her career that she has claimed a weekly award and the first of 2025. They are the first pair of Orediggers this season to earn recognition in the same week and bring the season total of weekly honors to three.

Rouse started both shutout wins at Colorado Christian and MSU Denver on Friday and Sunday and played all 180 minutes for the weekend. The fourth-year center back helped anchor a defensive performance that allowed just 13 total shots and three shots on goal over the course of two matches as Mines posted a season-low four shots allowed against the Cougars and held the Roadrunners to just nine looks. Rouse also scored her second goal of the season Sunday against MSUD as one of four players to find the net in the winning effort. For the weekend, the 13 total shots allowed by Rouse and the defense were the fewest faced this season to date while the Orediggers held both opponents to single-digit shot attempts for the first time as well.

Lundgren helped direct a pair of defensive gems working in tandem with Rouse and the back line. Friday against CCU she saw just four shots across 90 minutes, none of which were on frame in a 1-0 win. Sunday in 76:19 of action, she made a pair of saves against seven total shots before checking out early and combining for the shutout in a 4-0 win over MSUD. Lundgren also made history on Sunday, becoming the seventh goalkeeper in program history to register 100 career saves. The 11 combined shots Lundgren faced were her fewest in a weekend all season and the first time this season which she saw single-digit shots in consecutive matches.

Mines (7-2-1, 4-1-0) open a four-match homestand this weekend when they host #15 UCCS Friday night at 6:30 p.m. before welcoming Western Colorado for Senior Day Sunday as part of game two of a doubleheader at 2:30 p.m.
