ROAD TRIPPIN'
The Colorado School of Mines volleyball team is back on the road this weekend for matches at Fort Lewis and Western Colorado. After playing nine of their first 14 matches at home, the Orediggers are in the midst of a road trip spanning two weeks, four matches, and nearly 1,000 miles on a charter bus. This weekend's opponents include a FLC squad that's second in the RMAC standings and a Western Colorado crew primed to snap its 11-match losing streak. That being said, a pair of wins with other fortuitous results around the league could quickly launch Mines into contention for a conference title.
LIVE COVERAGE
Both matches will
stream on the RMAC Network (pay-per-view). There will also be free live stats on Friday and Saturday, linked above and at www.minesathletics.com.

RMAC SETTER OF THE WEEK
Hailee Martinez was voted RMAC Setter of the Week Monday. It marked her third weekly award this season and followed a 1-1 week for the Orediggers. She started with 30 assists, seven digs, and one service ace as part of a three-set loss at CSU Pueblo. Then, on Saturday, Martinez exploded for 58 assists, eight digs, and one service ace during a 3-1 victory at Colorado Christian. The 58 assists were a career-high for the Mines graduate student. For the week, she ranked #1 in the RMAC in total assists and assists per set. Martinez remains #1 in the RMAC this season as well in both categories.
CLUB 1K
Earlier this season,
Amanda Donais Dudley surpassed 1,000 kills for her collegiate career. The crafty veteran now touts 1,067 kills along with 875 digs, 218 total blocks, 103 aces, and 99 assists. Those who are quick with the simple match know Donais Dudley sits just 125 digs from a second admittance into Club 1K. Furthermore, teammate
Jada Price is quickly approaching her own milestone. At 210 digs this season and 980 for her career, Price needs just 20 more digs to reach 1,000 as an Oredigger. The Argyle, Texas, native is averaging 3.5 digs per set in 2025 which means she theoretically should reach the milestone so matter how long each match lasts this weekend.
LAST WEEK
As previously mentioned, Mines' action last week included a three-set loss at CSU Pueblo on Friday and a 3-1 victory at Colorado Christian on Saturday. There were a number of outstanding performances across the two matches. For the week,
Amanda Donais Dudley totaled 28 kills at 4.00 kills per set.
Naomi Romslo and
Jenna McLaughlin pumped out 23 kills apiece while both hitting over .270.
Hailee Martinez of course was the best setter in the conference with her 88 assists at 12.57 assists per set. Defensively,
Jada Price churned out 34 digs, averaging 4.86 digs per set.
Abbie O'Shay finished with five total blocks and McLaughlin had four. In the match-by-match breakdown, Donais Dudley produced a double-double in both contests. She had 12 kills and 10 digs with two blocks against "The Pack." Her 16 kills and 17 digs also led the way against the Cougars. Additionally, at CCU, Romslo, McLaughlin, and O'Shay combined for 41 kills while Price's 22 digs anchored the back row.
SCOUTING FORT LEWIS
Fort Lewis volleyball is under the guidance of Justin Wong who's in his first year leading the Skyhawks. At 12-4 (6-1 RMAC), FLC touts its best start to a season since 2008. Start to a season may not be fair since the 2025 campaign is over halfway done. That being said, with nine matches left on their schedule, the Skyhawks need just three victories to match their highest win total since 2010. They started the season 6-1 in non-conference play and their only RMAC loss was a five-set home heartbreaker against South Dakota Mines. Last Saturday, FLC swept Colorado Mesa in Durango. On paper, Fort Lewis' success is fueled by a staunch back row featuring Emery Pomroy and Alyx Daugherty who are both averaging well over 4.00 digs per set. That production has FLC ranked #14 in the nation in team digs per set. On offense, Cambria Freymuth leads the team with 174 kills. The setting duo of Addie Garn and Arianna Reyna coordinate the attack with Garn also boasting 18 service aces. On the flipside, it is notable that the Skyhawks rank #15 in the RMAC in blocks per set.
OREDIGGERS AGAINST THE SKYHAWKS
Mines holds a narrow, 37-36 advantage in the all-time volleyball series against Fort Lewis. The Orediggers did drop their last meeting with the Skyhawks in four sets in Durango last season. However, Mines is 9-1 in its last 10 matches against FLC. In fact, prior to last season's matchups, the Orediggers had taken 21 straight from Fort Lewis, dating back to 2008. The Skyhawks ended that skid despite
Hannah Kinnison's 12 kills, 12 digs, and five total blocks. Also notable in the loss were five blocks by
Jenna McLaughlin and four more from
Allison Jansen.
Jada Price and
Olivia Murillo combined for 22 digs.
SCOUTING WESTERN COLORADO
Western Colorado is 1-16 overall and 0-7 in conference play. The Mountaineers are enduring an 11-match skid which was extended on Tuesday with a straight-set loss to Fort Lewis. Their only win of the season was a 3-0 decision against Millersville at the Mountain Lion Classic in Colorado Springs. Five of WCU's last six losses have come by a 3-0 margin. Like FLC, Western Colorado also has a new head coach in Sonia Morales-Jones after the former skipper left for CSU Pueblo. Morales-Jones' top hitter on offense is Olive Rolseth who has 142 kills. Anuhea Ka'alele, one of two setters for WCU, pushed out a triple-double against Westminster last Saturday with 10 kills, 23 assists, and 10 digs. On defense, Galatia Andrew touts 177 digs while Breanna Nohava is averaging 1.02 blocks per set.
OREDIGGERS AGAINST THE MOUNTAINEERS
Mines is 39-37-1 all-time against Western Colorado on the volleyball court. The Orediggers took 12 straight matches from the Mountaineers from 2015-23 before falling in four sets last season in Gunnison. That loss featured 19 kills and 12 digs from
Hannah Kinnison.
Jenna McLaughlin put down 11 kills on .391 hitting and had five total blocks.
Olivia Murillo produced 18 digs. Prior to last year's loss, Mines had not played in Gunnison since the fall of 2021. The Orediggers played in Gunnison in 2019 and the spring of 2021 as well. There was also a meeting in the RMAC tournament in Grand Junction in the spring of 2021.
SHE'S BAAAAAACK
Amanda Donais Dudley played for the Mines from 2018-21 and was an all-American as a senior. She finished her bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and graduated in the spring of 2022. However, Donais Dudley still had a year of college eligibility remaining due to the COVID-19 pandemic. So, when she decided to come back to Mines for a master's degree in mechanical engineering, she decided to play some more volleyball. The 2025 season will be Donais Dudley's final collegiate campaign, and with 10 matches remaining in the regular season, her career numbers include 1,067 kills, 875 digs, 218 blocks, 103 service aces, and 99 assists.
STANDING IN THE HALL OF FAME
Five-time all-American Danielle Johnson-Hazlewood was announced as a member of the Mines Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2025 over the summer. She was officially enshrined on Oct. 4. One of the most decorated players in Mines volleyball history, Johnson-Hazlewood is one of an elite few Orediggers in any sport to have been a four-year RMAC champion. She led Mines to the conference regular-season titles in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. Johnson-Hazlewood also helped the Orediggers win the RMAC Tournament title as a senior in 2015. Fans can read her entire Mines Athletics Hall of Fame profile

AT THE HELM
Head Coach
Jamie Magalei is in her 18th season leading the Mines volleyball program. She is easily the program's all-time leader in total wins and win percentage at 375-143 (.723). Magalei surpassed 300 career wins in 2021. She's one of six to reach the milestone while coaching in the RMAC. Through 2024, Magalei has coached 31 all-America selections, three Academic All-Americans, and 66 all-conference performers. Her resume also includes three Regional Players of the Year, two Regional Freshmen of the Year, and 16 RMAC major award winners. Magalei has guided Mines to six RMAC regular-season championships, and five RMAC Tournament titles with 13 consecutive NCAA tournament appearances from 2009-22 (no NCAA tournament in 2020). The North Dakota native also guided the Orediggers to either a conference regular-season or tournament title every season from 2012-21 including a sweep of both in 2015.
