RICHMOND, VA. – The Colorado School of Mines men's and women's swimming & diving teams both appeared in the first edition of the College Swimming and Diving Coaches' Association of America's (CSCAA) Division II Top 25 Dual Meet Rankings released late last week.
Â
October's version of the polls had Mines' men ranked #24 and the women #18. The Orediggers' national standings comes after they officially opened the season Oct. 10-11. Action started with a men's and women's dual against Adams State. Mines swept Friday's action with the men winning, 134-82, and the women posting a 92-44 margin. On Saturday, the Oredigger men went head-to-head with ASU again while CSU Pueblo joined the women's racing for a tri meet. Once again, Mines was victorious. The men's score was 116.5-59.5. The Oredigger women went 117-47 against the Grizzlies and 116-72 against the ThunderWolves.
Â
Drury's men and Tampa's women were #1 in their respective rankings. Other RMAC squads on the men's list included #5 Colorado Mesa and #18 Oklahoma Christian. Conference teams in the women's rankings were #2 Colorado Mesa, #20 Oklahoma Christian, and #25 Simon Fraser. The polls are voted on by a committee consisting of Division II coaches and is meant to reflect the top dual meet teams in all of NCAA Division II. The national rankings are not meant to predict the top finishers in a championship meet format.
Mines returns to action this Friday, hosting Colorado College at the Mines Natatorium. Friday also marks the official return of Oredigger diving. Free live results will be available at
