- Holden Murphy and Kitt Rupar reset program throws records to lead Colorado School of Mines at the Colorado Running Company Mountain Lion Open at UCCS on Saturday.

Murphy reset the program men's weight throw record for the third time this season, while Rupar bested her own indoor women's shot put record to lead a day of big field performances for Mines. Dale Thompson set a season-best in the pole vault, and Jennifer Jarnagin moved to #2 on the women's weight throw list with her personal-best performance.

MEN'S MEET
Murphy continued his outstanding winter in the weight throw to highlight the Oredigger men's day in the field, improving by six centimeters with his fifth-round throw of 19.75m. This season, Murphy has thrown seven of the top-10 weight throw performances in program history, and his mark leads the RMAC and ranks #10 in NCAA Division II this season.

The men's 3,000m highlighted the Oredigger's day on the track as Mines took six of the top nine spots led by the 1-2 finish of Max Bonenberger (8:33.40) and Ethan Grolnic (8:36.57). Matthew Mettler was fourth in 8:44.54, Chandler Wilburn sixth in 8:53.74, Garrett Mackey seventh in 8:56.54, and Rowan Nicholas ninth in 9:02.41. WOMEN'S MEET
Rupar made it a two-record day for the Mines throwers as she reset her indoor shot put record for the second time this season, throwing 14.87m for second in the event. That improves the 2024 outdoor All-American to 11th on the national list. Avery Wright's 12.93m was a personal best and strong fifth place for the multi-eventer, and Jarnagin was seventh at 11.89m. Audrey Ott finished 17th (9.89m) and Abbi Gillespie 18th (9.65m).

In the weight throw, Jarnagin joined teammate Gillespie as the third Mines woman to join the 18-meter club, throwing a personal-best and NCAA-provisional 18.26m to win the event.
