Mines Wraps Western Slope Races

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Colorado School of Mines Men's and Women's Swimming teams closed the weekend on Saturday afternoon as a small group of Orediggers competed at the CMU Last Chance Meet.
 
A total of six Orediggers raced at El Pomar Natatorium. Jennifer Pierson posted a 1:51.80 in the 200-free which converted to a NCAA "B" cut after adjustment for altitude. Jakson Winn competed twice in the 100-back. His prelim time of 48.52 was his best time and also a NCAA "B" cut after adjustment for altitude. Jaron O'Grady and Max Waring both raced prelims and finals in the 200-fly. Waring was outstanding in prelims with a 1:51.82. O'Grady started with a national time in prelims and dropped it further in finals after blazing to a 1:49.72. Julie Gill turned out a 17:41.70 in the 1650-free. Joseph Lev-Tov's 16:00.07 was a NCAA "B" cut and dropped his season-best time after altitude adjustment.
 
Now, the Orediggers await the announcement of the selections for the 2025 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships. The selections will be unveiled on Wednesday, Feb. 26. The meet will run March 11-15 in Indianapolis, Ind.
