2024-25 CSC Academic All-America Women's Swimming Teams

AUSTIN, Texas – Jordan Tierney represented the Colorado School of Mines Women's Swimming team as a Second-Team Academic All-American after College Sports Communicators (CSC) unveiled its 2024-25 swimming & diving squads on Tuesday.

Tierney's distinction as a CSC Academic All-American is the second of her career after earning third-team honors last season – her first season of eligibility for the honor. Only two other Oredigger women's swimmers have earned multiple Academic All-America accolades. Meghan Slowey and Jorie Selig both earned two such awards as well. Members of the CSC Academic All-America teams were initially nominated for CSC Academic All-District. A committee then selected the finalists to put on the ballot for CSC Academic All-America. Members of College Sports Communicators voted on the teams. Minimum criteria for all-America recognition required a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.5, or better, along with outstanding credentials in competition and a minimum participation requirement.

The prestigious academic achievement for Tierney added to an impressive 2024-25 resume. She won RMAC silver in the 200-breast which provided her First-Team All-RMAC distinction. The junior also won silver and First-Team All-RMAC honors as part of the 200-medley relay which broke the program record as well. Her performance in the 100-breast, 400-medley relay, and 200-freestyle relay at the conference meet all yielded Second-Team All-RMAC finishes. The Delaware native eventually qualified for the 2025 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships in the 100-breast and 200-breast, finishing 28th in the nation in both events. Her combined work in the classroom and in the pool added CSC Academic All-District and RMAC First-Team All-Academic to her list of accolades. Roudning out Tierney's highlights was a program record after providing a leg on the 400-freestyle relay during the regular season.

Mines' women finished the 2024-25 season at the national meet with three individuals in action. The Oredigger women also took team bronze at the RMAC Swimming & Diving Championships. They are now in the postseason with signing announcements and additional awards on the horizon. All offseason updates for Mines swimming will be posted online at www.minesathletics.com.
