HOW IT HAPPENED
Home runs provided the first four runs of the first game on Sunday. Colorado Christian struck first in the opening frame. Andrews tied the game, 2-2, with his two-run shot in the third inning. Mines took the lead after
Tyler Easter's one-run single in the fourth. However, the Cougars exploded for five in the bottom of the same frame. The Orediggers rallied behind Andrews' second home run of the game and Parker's two-run shot in the sixth. With the score tied at 7-7, Colorado Christian churned out three more runs in the sixth to claim the victory.
The second game started with an Oredigger out followed by back-to-back home runs off the bats of Andrews and Bilter. That two-run lead carried into the bottom of the second inning when the home team stacked five runs on two hits, two errors, and three walks. Four CCU runs in the third, one in the fourth, and third in the fifth doomed the visitors despite Leiphart's long ball in the sixth and Babcock's in the seventh. The Oredigger loss in game two provided the Cougars a series victory.
