MINES RETURNS TO ARIZONA
After a strong performance at the Fort Hays State Tiger Classic last week, Colorado School of Mines heads back to Arizona for the RJGA Palm Valley Classic this Monday and Tuesday. It will be Mines' second trip to the desert this spring after playing the Hot Dirt Shootout and Stack Cougar-Burro Collegiate in the Phoenix area in late March.

THE TOURNAMENT
The RJGA Palm Valley Classic brings together 19 teams from the South Central and West regions in what will be the regular-season finale for the Orediggers. The 54-hole event has become a staple on Mines' spring schedule, having played in it each year since 2021 including a best-ever seventh-place finish in 2024. Monday will be a 7:30 a.m. PT shotgun start with Mines paired with Chico State.

THE FORECAST
The forecast is absolutely perfect for golf in the Phoenix area with highs around 90 and abundant sunshine both days, with light winds.

THE COURSE
Palm Valley has been an Oredigger destination for a number of years, holding 27 holes across its North, South, and West courses. An Arthur Hills design, Palm Valley opened in 1993 and plays around 7,000 yards depending on the nines used.

LAST TIME OUT
Colt Tenpenny's runner-up finish led Colorado School of Mines to sixth place as they wrapped up play at the FHSU Tiger Classic on Tuesday. Mines battled against extremely windy conditions, but Tenpenny still managed to land at +1 overall for his fifth career top-10. Max Lange was T26, Lukas Taggart T47, Lucas Schulte T56, and Carter Lolli T63.

LOOKING AHEAD
Mines heads to southern Nevada for the RMAC Championships starting on April 20.
