East-West Shrine Bowl Preseason Watchlist

GOLDEN, Colo.
- Colorado School of Mines wide receiver Flynn Schiele appears on the East-West Shrine Bowl's preseason watch list ahead of the 2025 college football season.

The longest-running college all-star game, the Shrine Bowl will take place in January 2026 in Frisco, Texas. Schiele was one of only 10 NCAA Division II players on the 1,000-member watchlist as he comes off back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons for the Orediggers, and he hopes to be the second consecutive Oredigger to play in the East-West Shrine Bowl after long snapper Josh Wojciechowicz competed in the 2025 edition.

Schiele was a 2024 Associated Press and D2CCA Second-Team All-American and D2football Elite 100 selection after catching 66 passes for 1,195 yards and 12 touchdowns as a redshirt junior. The native of West Linn, Ore. was a nominee for the Harlon Hill Trophy and First-Team All-RMAC selection in 2024, as well. In 2023, he had a breakout sophomore season catching 67 passes for 1,013 yards and 10 touchdowns, and owns career totals of 2,292 yards, 135 receptions, and 23 touchdowns in 32 games.

Schiele will represent Mines alongside head coach Bob Stitt and cornerback Jackson Zimmermann at the 2025 RMAC Football Media Day Thursday in Denver, with training camp set to start Aug. 11 ahead of the season opener Sept. 4 at West Texas A&M.
