LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced its All-Region Teams for Division II Friday morning which saw the Colorado School of Mines outfield duo of
Kendall Aragon and
Kellan Ton named Second Team All-South Central Region.
The pair are first Orediggers to be named to an All-Region team since Sadriena Rodriguez was also named to the Second Team in 2024, and are the first teammates to earn All-Region honors since 2017 when Katie Leiker and Hallie Smith were likewise Second Team selections. Mines was one of 12 teams represented on the two All-Region squads and one of four schools from the RMAC along with Colorado Christian, CSU Pueblo and MSU Denver. They were also one of six schools with multiple All-Region selections.
Aragon, a First Team All-RMAC honoree this spring and RMAC Gold Glove winner, closed out her career as one of the best players in program history. This spring she batted .420/.455/.692 with 13 doubles, 12 triples, three home runs, 49 RBI and 42 runs scored along with 11 stolen bases in 55 games played with 54 starts. The Thornton native led NCAA Division II in triples this spring and finished the regular season tied for the national lead across all levels of the NCAA. Defensively she fielded .989 with nine outfield assists. She broke the Mines single season and career records for triples this season and finished out her time as an Oredigger first in triples (19), second in hits (274), third in batting average (.402), fourth in at bats (681) and total bases (363), fifth in runs scored (144), sixth in RBI (133), tied for seventh in stolen bases (40), eighth in walks (65) and tied for 11th in doubles (36).
Ton was also a First Team All-RMAC selection this spring and remained one of the best left fielders in the RMAC. The junior posted career numbers across the board as she led the Orediggers this spring with a .433 batting average while posting an on-base percentage of .475 and slugging .572. Ton recorded three doubles, seven triples and hit three inside-the-park home runs while driving in 24 runs and scoring 55. She broke her own single-season stolen base record again this spring and finished with 37 stolen bases for the first 30-steal season in program history. Ton now owns the top three stolen base seasons in program history, while adding her name to the single-season lists in hits (81, t-3rd), batting average (5th) and runs (55, t5th). She also fielded .989 in the outfield with five outfield assists defensively. Through three seasons in a Mines uniform, Ton ranks first in stolen bases with 89, is tied for fifth with 13 career triples, is sixth in batting average at .360 and ninth in hits with 196.
