Women’s Soccer Adds 12 For 2026

GOLDEN, Colo. – Colorado School of Mines head women's soccer coach Kevin Fickes has announced the addition of 12 student-athletes for the 2026 season. This year's class featured two mid-year additions to the program including a pair of Division I transfers while also comprising of 10 first-year players. This year's class features student-athletes from nine states and builds depth at all positions around the pitch.
 
Addison Bailey // 5'7" // Midfielder // Anchorage, Alaska // South Anchorage HS
Bailey comes to Golden all the way South Anchorage High School where she earned a combined seven varsity letters across soccer, flag football and cross country. Over her career she scored 20 goals with 23 assists for 63 points. Twice she served as team captain and started three seasons at the varsity level. Bailey led SAHS to a pair of Alaska D1 High School State Championships in 2023 and 2025 and Cook Inlet Conference Championships in 2024 and 2025. She was also named to the Cook Inlet All-Conference Team in 2025. On the club level, she competed for Cook Inlet Soccer Club and had an equally decorated career, serving as captain and being named a United Soccer Coaches All-American in both 2022 and 2023, along with earning Player of Excellence honors in 2022. She was named to the ProScore National League U16 Best XI in the 2023 regular season and the U17 Best XI in the conference playoffs. In 2025 she was named the Best XI as the USYS National Championship. Bailey won a pair of U17G National League North West Conference Championships as well and was a two-time USYS National Championship Qualifier. She was also a nine-time Alaska Youth Soccer State Champion. Off the field, Bailey graduated first in her class and was Valedictorian with a GPA of 4.37. She was an AP Scholar with Distinction and served as National Honor Society president, as well as class president for three years while being a fixture on the Honor Roll. Bailey plans to major in Civil Engineering at Mines.
 
Brekyn Davenport-Murrish // 5'8" // Goalkeeper // Rocklin, Calif. // Del Oro HS
The lone goalkeeper in the incoming class, Davenport-Murrish comes to Mines from Del Ora High School in California where she earned a pair of letters at the varsity level As a junior she led Del Oro to a San Joaquin Section championship with 32 saves and six shutouts. In her final season, Davenport-Murrish notched five more shutouts and made 27 saves on the way to a Sierra Foothill League title. On the club tour, she competed for Placer United Soccer Club. There she made 48 saves and turned in eight shutouts with the highlight of her season coming in a penalty shootout where she made three consecutive saves to advance to the ECNL title match. Off the field, Davenport-Murrish was a decorated scholar and earned her Seal of Biliteracy while graduating Summa Cum Laude. She was a recipient of the Laurent Clerc Medal, given to a student for completing community service with hearing-impaired individuals through the ASL Honor Society and was an Academic Letterman. She plans to major in Quantitative Biosciences & Engineering at Mines.
 
Molly Elder // 5'2" // Midfielder // Spring, Texas // Tomball Memorial HS
Elder comes to mines from Tomball Memorial High School where she earned five varsity letters across soccer and cross country. She scored 36 goals with 27 assists in her career for 99 points in her career highlighted by a junior season in which she scored 16 times with nine assists. As a freshman she was named Newcomer of the Year, District 15-6A Honorable Mention All-District and Academic All-District. She followed up that debut season by earning three more All-District selections her final three seasons, being named TMHS's Offensive Player of the Year as a junior and District 15-6A Midfielder of the Year as a senior. She also earned the Team Heart Award as a junior and added further Academic All-District and Academic All-State honors. On the club level, Elder competed for the Albion Hurricanes where she wa1s a 2024 ECNL Regional League National Finalist. She was also a three-time United States Youth futsal National Team Player. Off the field, Elder ranked in the top 10% of her graduating class of 784, was an AP Scholar with Distinction and National Honor Society member. She also earned an AP Capstone Diploma, was a 2024 delegate of the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Students, three-time Tomball Memorial Student of the Month and a member of the National STEM Honor Society. Elder plans to major in Chemical Engineering at Mines.
 
Gabby Herfindahl // 5'10" // Defender // Gretna, Neb. // Gretna HS (Houston Christian)
Herfindahl joins the Orediggers after spending the 2025 season a member of the soccer program at Houston Christian University as part of a club that went 12-9-2 and won the Southland Conference Tournament and made an NCAA Tournament appearance. She made her collegiate debut on August 28 against the College of Charleston with 20 minutes off the bench. Herfindahl prepped Gretna High School where she competed in soccer and cross country. A starter each of her final two seasons, she scored three goals with five assists for 11 points in 1,400 minutes of action as a senior. She also served as team captain in her career and led GHS to a Class A District Championship and a State Championship appearance in 2024. In 2025 she was named to the Senior All-Star Game and was named Defensive Most Valuable Player along with being a recipient of the Soccer Scholarship Award. On the club level, Herfindahl competed for Gretna Elite Academy ECNL and most recently VSA Rush GA. With Gretna Elite, she was a 2021 Nebraska State Cup Champion and made appearances in the ECNL Champions League and North American Cup Playoffs in 2024 and 2023 respectfully. In 2023 she was named to Prep Soccer's Player To Watch list. In 2024 she was again named a Player To Watch at ECNL FL by Soccer Wire and was also named a Player That Impressed at the event, while being a Top Drawer Soccer Featured Player. With VSA Rush, Herfindahl was a third-place finisher in the Midwest Region in 2025. Off the field, she was an Academic All-State honoree and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She was also a four-year honor roll student and member of the National Honor Society, three-time Academic Letterman, Service Club leader and Fellowship of Christian Athletes Huddle Leader. Herfindahl also earned her Certified Nursing Assistant License as junior and established and led a bible study at Hillcrest Rehabilitation Center. She plans to major in Biochemistry at Mines.
 
Lucy Hays // 5'5" // Forward/Midfielder // Portland, Ore. // Beaverton HS
Hays comes to Golden following a standout career at Beaverton High School where she earned five varsity letters in soccer and track & field. As a junior in 2024, she scored 14 goals with 10 assists for 38 points and followed that up by scoring 21 times with 20 assists for 62 points as a senior in 2025. Hays was named the OSAA 6A Player of the Year as a senior and also earned First Team All-State and First Team All-Metro League honors as she was named Metro League Player of the Year. Other accomplishments include a Second Team All-State selection in 2024 along with First Team All-League status and being named a Metro League Academic All-Star. On the club tour, Hays competes for the Oregon Surf 08 Girls ECNL. Off the field, she has been a three-year member of the National Honor Society and plans to major in Mining Engineering at Mines.
 
Haliya Jabel // 5'0" // Midfielder // Mission Viejo, Calif. // Capistrano Valley HS
Jabel arrives at Mines following a decorated career on and off the field at Capistrano Valley High School where she was a four-year letter winner and soccer and also competed in track & field. On the pitch, she scored 10 goals with 21 assists for 41 points in 79 career matches. She scored three goals in each of her final two seasons and recorded six and seven assists as a junior and senior respectively. Jabel earned the Soccer Scholar Athlete and Varsity Soccer Four-Year Service Awards in her career and was also named 2024 Newcomer of the Year in track & field. On the club level, she competes for Pateadores G08 ECNL and was a U17 Southwest All-Conference Team selection in 2025. Off the field, Jabel was CVHS's valedictorian and was an AP Scholar. She was also named a CVHS Scholar for her strong academic performance, leadership and service in the school. She plans to major in Business Engineering & Management Science at Mines.
 
Shyla Kalpathy // 5'4" // Midfielder // Southlake, Texas // Carroll Senior HS
Kalpathy comes to Mines after attending Carroll Senior High School in Southlake, Texas. She competed exclusively on the club level during her prep career for the Dallas Surf U19 GA Talavera and Fever United 07G Penn. With Dallas Surf, she served as team captain. During her club career she was named Girls Academy Frontier Conference Representative and 2023 North Texas ECNL All-Regional League Girls U16. Off the field, Kalpathy was an AP Scholar with Distinction and a member of the National Honor Society and the Honor Roll. She plans to major in Quantitative Biosciences & Engineering at Mines.
 
Gwen McAllister // 5'8" // Defender // Monument, Colo. // Lewis Palmer HS (USC Upstate)
A mid-year addition to the program in January, McAllister comes home after playing her freshman season at Division I USC Upstate. A member of a Spartans team that went 10-6-3 and advanced to the Big South Title match, McAllister appeared in six matches for 137 minutes with one start. She was in the starting eleven in her debut at Wofford on August 14 and played a season-high 41 minutes against South Carolina on October 25. At the prep level, McAllister attended Lewis Palmer High School where she was a three-time First Team All-Conference selection and twice named Honorable Mention All-State. A captain each of her final three seasons, she scored five goals as a senior and led LPHS in assists as a junior. On the club level she competed for Real Colorado. McAllister graduated Summa Cum Laude and was an AP scholar while twice being named Academic All-State. She's studying Quantitative Biosciences & Engineering at Mines.
 
Madisen Powers // 5'5" // Forward/Midfielder // Ames, Iowa // Gilbert HS
Powers comes to Mines from Gilbert High School where she was a four-year varsity letter winner. At the time of publication, Powers had scored 36 goals with 21 assists for 93 points in her career. Three times she was named First Team All-Conference and was also a two-time Academic All-Conference selection and Academic All-State selection. She also led Gilbert to a runner-up finish in the Iowa State Championship. On the club level, Powers competes for VSA Rush GA. There she competed in the GA Midwest Talent ID session in 2023-24 for the Iowa President's Cup, was an Iowa State Cup Champion and National Cup XX Champion. Off the pitch, Powers carried a 4.0 GPA and won first in the state of Iowa in the Purple Comet Competition. She was also chosen to represent GHS in a conference-level art competition specializing in portraiture and colored pencil work. She plans to major in either Electrical or Quantum Systems Engineering at Mines.
 
Bella Torres // 5'4" // Midfielder // Lakewood, Colo. // Colorado Academy
Another mid-year addition to the program from the prep level, Torres arrives in Golden after a career at Colorado Academy. A two-sport athlete in soccer and cross country, Torres won a pair of CHSAA Class 3A state titles in her career and earned All-Conference and All-Region honors as a junior. In her career, she scored 29 times with 18 assists for 76 points. She also competed at the CHSSA Cross Country championships her freshman and sophomore years. On the club circuit, Torres competed for Real Colorado National 07 ECNL and twice served as captain while winning the North American Cup in 2024. She's majoring in Business Engineering & Management Science at Mines.
 
Veronica Weston // 5'2" // Midfielder // Santa Clara, Utah // Snow Canyon HS
Weston comes to Mines following a decorated prep career at Snow Canyon High School. A four-year letter winner, she served as team captain and won a Utah State Championship in 2026. She also led SCHS to a trio of regional championships and was a First Team All-State selection in her career. On the club level won an ECNL Mountain Region Championship as well. Off the pitch, Weston was a four-year academic letter winner and Academic All-State honoree. She was also twice named Art Student of the Year. She plans to major in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering at Mines.
 
Skyla Yu // 5'3" // Midfielder // Newcastle, Wash. // Liberty HS
Yu comes to Mines following a stellar prep career at Liberty High School where she was a four-year letter winner. As a senior, she scored eight goals with three assists for 19 points. A highly-decorated athlete, Yu was named to the KingCo All-Freshman First Team in 2022-23 as well as Defensive Most Valuable Player. In each of her final two seasons, she was named KingCo Second Team All-League and in 2025 was a First Team All-State selection as a senior. On the club tour, Yu competed for Eastside FC and most recently Pac NW SC. During her time with Eastside, she was named to the 2023-24 ECNL Northwest Division All-Conference First Team. Off the pitch, Yu was a member of the National Honor Society. She plans to major in Civil Engineering at Mines.
