GOLDEN, Colo. – Colorado School of Mines men's soccer interim head coach Ben Fredrickson has announced the addition of 17 student-athletes who will join the Orediggers for the 2026 season. The large group of newcomers features top international and domestic talent, adding depth and competition at every position on the pitch. Seven countries and seven states are represented by this incoming class, with players bringing previous collegiate and international experience to Golden this fall.
 
Daniel Bruno // 6'1" // 170 // Midfielder // Shoreline, Wash. // Seattle United ECNL
Bruno joins the Orediggers as the latest native of the Evergreen State following his time at Shorewood High School. A multi-sport standout, he earned a total of five varsity letters with three in soccer and one each in tennis and cross country. An attacking midfielder, Bruno posted career highs with five goals and six assists for 16 points as a junior before closing his career with four goals and four assists as a senior. He led Shorewood to three consecutive District 1 Championships and was part of state runner-up squads each of his final two seasons. For his efforts, Bruno was named First Team All-League as a senior. On the club level, he competed for Seattle United 08 ECNL, making the final 32 at ECNL nationals in 25-26. Off the pitch, Bruno ranked in the top 5% of his graduating class, served as vice president of Shorewood's chapter of the National Honor Society and was an AP Scholar with Distinction. He plans to major in Mechanical Engineering at Mines.
 
Andrew DeBerardinis // 6'1" // 185 // Midfielder // Highlands Ranch, Colo. // Real Colorado FC/Colorado Rush DA // Stonehill College
One of three Colorado natives in the incoming class, DeBerardinis comes to Mines after beginning his collegiate career at Stonehill College. Part of the first class to play for the Skyhawks following their transition to Division I in the fall of 2022, DeBerardinis played three seasons. Prior to his time at Stonehill, DeBerardinis was a two-sport standout at Mullen High School where he earned a combined six varsity letters in soccer and ice hockey. On the pitch, he was named Centennial League First Team All-Conference and November Player of the Month in his career and was a CHSAA Class 4A All-State selection. He played for Colorado Rush DA and Real Colorado on the club level. After earning a degree in Finance from SHC, DeBerardinis plans to pursue a Master's degree in Data Science at Mines.
 
Pol Garcia Oliveras // 6'0" // 156 // Midfielder // Barcelona, Spain // UE Sant Andreu
Garcia Oliveras arrives at Mines from Barcelona and Institut de la Roca del Valles. A talented attacking midfielder, over the last two seasons he tallied 17 goals and 11 assists for 45 points. In the 2024-25 season, Garcia Oliveras ranked among the top 10 goal scorers in his league, finding the net 12 times in 29 matches while adding an additional seven assists. He was a Liga Nacional Champion and promoted to División de Honor, the highest U19 league in Spain. Additionally, Garcia Oliveras completed 30 first-team training sessions with UE Sant Andreu senior team, who play in Primera Federacíon, Spain's third Division. He plans to major in Mechanical Engineering with an Aerospace focus at Mines.
 
Noah Hildreth // 6'2" // 185 // Goalkeeper // Vista, Calif. // City SC San Diego MLS NEXT
The first California native to come to Golden since 2023, Hildreth played at Rancho Buena Vista High School where he was a three-sport standout in soccer, football and baseball. On the pitch, Hildreth was named league Goalkeeper of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and a Second Team All-CIF selection in his career. He also was a Nike Cup Champion and back-to-back Melrose Cup Champion. On the club level, he competed for City SC San Diego MLS Next where he was a Best Of The Best Selection at the Nashville MLS Next Fest. Off the field, Hildreth was a member of the National Honor Society, an RBV Patrons Award winner and four-year Honor Roll recipient. He was a full International Baccalaureate Diploma candidate who graduated with honors and a 4.2 GPA. He plans to major in Aerospace Engineering at Mines.
 
Kaoru Kato // 5'9" // 154 // Midfielder // Shizuoka, Japan // Shizuoka Gakuen HS
Kato comes to Mines after playing for three years at powerhouse Shizuoka Gakuen High School in Japan. At Shizuoka Gakuen, a team known for producing J-League players in Japan, Kaoru was a regular at central midfield and left back. Kato was a part of a national runner-up finish at the All-Japan Junior High School National Sports Tournament (top U15 level) and was also part of a third-place finish in the Shizuoka Prefecture Qualifiers for the All-Japan High School Soccer Championship (highest regional level knockout tournament). Off the pitch, he was in the top 1% of his graduating class and was chosen for the Selective Small Group Track before advancing to the Science & Inquiry Program. Kato plans to major in Chemical Engineering at Mines.
 
Carlo Kobelt // 6'3" // 180 // Defender // Weimar, Thuringia, Germany // Rot-weiß Erfurt
Kobelt comes to Mines after playing as a center back for U19 Bundesliga for Rot-weiß Erfurt, playing against the likes of Nünberg U19, Frankfurt U19, and RB Leipzig U19 in his group. Kobelt has also featured in friendly games for Rot-weiß Erfurt's first team who play in Regionalliga Nordost, the 4^th tier of German football. He served as team captain for Rot-weiß Erfurt at U17 level. Off the pitch, he served as the student representative for more than 500 students at Staatliches Gymnasium "Pierre de Coubertin" Erfurt. He plans to major in Business Engineering & Management Science at Mines.
 
Djaz Less // 6'3" // 160 // Midfielder // Irish Town, Kingston, Jamaica // Kingston Football Academy
A native of Jamaica, Less comes to Mines by way of Campion College where he was a standout midfielder and team captain. In three seasons of competition, he scored 19 goals with 12 assists for 50 points. During his career, he was named Most Valuable Player and Best Midfielder. Voted among the Top 25 Schoolboy Football Players by SportsMax, he scored for the Manning Cup Scholastic Selection team in an exhibition win over the daCosta Cup Scholastic side. Less previously played for Kingston Football Academy, and is currently training with Arnett Gardens FC of the Jamaican Premier League. Off the pitch, he graduated 11th grade in June of 2024 and completed his Sixth Form studies (Grades 12 & 13) in June of this year. Less plans to major in Civil Engineering at Mines.
 
Luke Marcus // 6'0" // 175 // Forward // Fort Collins, Colo. // CDJ Manisense
One of three Colorado products set to join Mines this fall, Marcus played at Rocky Mountain High School where earned a pair of varsity letters. In his two seasons at RMHS, he scored more than 60 goals and was named Most Valuable Player. Marcus is coming off a year playing in Spain with Eture's gap year program, placed at CDJ Manisense senior men's team and teammates of fellow newcomer Max Robertson. Off the field, he was an Honor Roll recipient and earned the President's Gold Award. Marcus plans to major in Mining Engineering at Mines.
 
Davyan Martinez // 6'0" // 160 // Winger/Forward // Kent, Wash. // Crossfire/PacNW ECNL
Martinez joins the Orediggers as the latest talent from the Pacific Northwest to arrive in Golden. He competed for Kent-Meridian High School  and earned a trio of varsity letters as a right and left winger. During the regular season, he scored 15 goals with 15 assists for 45 points and was named NPSL All-Conference 1^st Team. On the club level, Martinez competed for Eastside FC, Crossfire Premier and Pac NW. He won a trio of club championships, including the ECNL National Championship in 2024 along with the Dallas Cup and Surf Cup. Off the field, he was an AP Human Geography Student and a member of the Running Start program. He plans to major in Mechanical Engineering at Mines.
 
Murray Peart // 6'0" // 185 // Winger // Eleebana, New South Wales, Australia // Newcastle Jets // SIU Edwardsville
Peart comes to Mines after spending his first season at the collegiate level at Division I Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2025. Peart was also a member of the Delaware USL 2 club for the 2025 season. Prior to SIUE, Peart was a pivotal member of the Newcastle Jets Academy of the Australian A-League where he was part of an undefeated club championship in 2024. An experienced and versatile left sided player, Peart plans to major in Mechanical Engineering at Mines.
 
Mason Robledo // 5'7" // 150 // Defender // Aurora, Colo. // Cherokee Trail HS // Real Colorado MLS Next/ECNL
A local of Aurora, Robledo will make the short trip to Golden from Cherokee Trail High School where he was a two-year letter winner. During his career he scored five goals with seven assists for 17 points. Robledo earned First Team All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-State honors for his performance. Robledo helped his club team, Real Colorado, to an MLS Next national final appearance in 2024 and a final 4 appearance in 2025, losing to Inter Miami on a penalty shootout. Off the field, he was named First Team Academic All-State and was an Academic Letterman. A four-year honor roll recipient, Robledo also earned his Seal of Biliteracy and was named to the Dean's List at Arapahoe Community College. He plans to major in Business Engineering & Management Science at Mines.
 
Max Robertson // 5'10 // 175 // Defender // Springfield, Mo. // Sporting Springfield ECNL/CDJ Manisense
The latest product of Missouri, Robertson comes to Mines from Central High School in Springfield where he was a four-year varsity letter winner. In his final season in 2025, Robertson scored 11 times with 19 assists for 41 points after scoring eight times with 16 assists for 32 points as a junior. His first two seasons saw him combine for 14 goals and 10 assists for 38 points. Named his conference's Defensive Player of the Year in his career, Robertson was a three-time All-Region selection, two-time All-Conference selection and was also named to a MSHSAA All-State selection. On the club level, he competed locally for Sporting Springfield ECNL and is coming off a year playing in Spain with Eture's gap year program, placed at CDJ Manisense senior men's team and teammate of fellow newcomer Luke Marcus. Off the field, Robertson ranked in the top 10% of his graduating class and graduated with his International Baccalaureate Diploma. He plans to major in Chemical Engineering at Mines.
 
Marcus Saa // 5'7" // 140 // Winger/Midfielder // San Antonio, Texas // San Antonio City Soccer Club ECNL
Saa arrives at Mines as the latest in a long line of players from Texas after attending John M. Harlan High School. A three-year letter winner as a winger, outside back and midfielder, Saa was a major contributor in the attacking third as he scored 24 goals with 28 assists for 76 points in his career. Twice he was named First Team All-District and also earned Second Team honors in his three varsity seasons. On the club level, he competed for San Antonio City Soccer Club in the ECNL. Off the pitch, Saa was a three-time First Team Academic All-District honoree and was TASCO First Team Academic All-State selection. He graduated Cum Laude and ranked 95th in his graduating class. He plans to major in Mechanical Engineering at Mines.
 
Timothé Strout // 6'2" // 180 // Defender // Georgetown, Ontario, Canada // Scrossopi FC
Making the trip to Colorado from Canada, Strout was a multi-sport athlete at Georgetown District High School where he competed at the varsity level in soccer, cross country, badminton, track & field and basketball. In soccer, he was part of two 13-0-0 undefeated seasons in his grade nine and grade 10 seasons, scoring seven goals with seven assists for 21 points, as a central defender, on the way to a pair of Halton Region Championships. After missing his junior season, he closed his career with 10 goals and seven assists for 27 points and led GDHS to a semifinal appearance. Strout was named Student-Athlete of the Year following his grade nine season and twice named Most Valuable Player. On the club level, he competes for Scrossopi FC playing in the Ontario Premier League U20 division with two assists in seven matches. With Scrossopi, he won Top Rated Showcase, Canada's premier showcase, and Tampa Bay Super Cup Championships and was named to the FTF Fall Showdown All-Tournament Team. In summer 2025 his team was League 1 runners-up and posted a pair of third-place finishes in League 2. Off the field, he was a four-year Honour Roll student and four-year French Student of the Year. He was also named the Welding Student of the Year in grade nine. Strout plans to major in Mining Engineering at Mines.
 
Zeus Tabora // 6'2" // 182 // Defender // Homestead, Fla. // Athletum FC MLS Next
Tabora comes to Golden all the way from Florida, where he attended the School for Advanced Studies in Miami. Tabora played for Athletum FC in the MLS Next and tallied seven goals and seven assists from his center back position in his U19 year. Tabora also brings international experience to Mines having played for Honduran U17 and U20 National Team squads and is arriving in Golden having spent part of his summer with the U20 squad. He was selected to travel to Europe to compete against some of the top academies on the continent and was also selected for professional trials in Central America. Off the pitch, Tabora is an AP Scholar with Distinction and a Miami Dade District 9 Art winner. He also earned the AP Rural and Small Town Award, and is a four-year honor roll student. He plans to major in Business Engineering and Management Science at Mines.
 
Marco Vecchini // 5'10" // 155 // Midfielder // Guaynabo, Puerto Rico // Black Rock FC
Vecchini, originally from Puerto Rico, comes to Golden from High Mowing School in New Hampshire. Vecchini played in the New England Prep School league for High Mowing and was a member of the Black Rock FC residential academy competing against some of the best teams in the northeast. Before High Mowing, Vecchini attended Colegio Maristas de Guaynabo in Puerto Rico. A prolific player on offense, he scored 25 goals with 10 assists for 60 points in his career. As a freshman and sophomore he was named Colegio Maristas' Most Valuable Player and also served as team captain. Vecchini was also named Most Valuable Player of both the Colegio San Jose and Colegio San Ignacio Tournaments. In Puerto Rico he played for Academic Quintana and Surf Puerto Rico. Vecchini was a Liga Elite de Puerto Rico winner for five years and was a semifinalist in the Spanish MIC Tournament. In spring of 2026 he won the U19 Spring Cup with Black Rock. Off the field, he was a member of the National Honor Society and was the #1 ranked student academically at both high schools he attended. Vecchini plans to major in Mechanical Engineering at Mines.
 
Aidan Wells // 5'10" // 167 // Defender // Brentwood, Tenn. // Tennessee Soccer Club ECNL
Wells comes to Mines from Brentwood High School on the south side of Nashville, Tennessee. A four-year varsity letter winner as a defender, he scored 17 goals with seven assists for 41 points as a senior after scoring four times with three assists for 11 points as a junior. Wells was named TSSAA District 11-AAA Offensive Player of the Year and was named First Team All-District as a senior. His freshman season he started every match on the way to BHS winning a state title and being the #1 ranked prep team in the nation. Wells was also named Defender of the Year as a junior. On the club level, he competed for Tennessee Soccer Club under interim head coach Ben Fredrickson in 2024, and is coming off back-to-back quarter final appearances at ECNL Nationals in 24-25 and 25-26. Off the pitch, Wells took five AP classes and graduated with a 4.38 GPA. He plans to major in Mining Engineering at Mines.
