LAKEWOOD, Colo. - Four Orediggers wrapped up first-day play at the Les Fowler Colorado Individual at Bear Creek on Monday, led by Devin Nguyen and Alexander Samuelsson.

Competitors raced to finish 36 holes on the challenging Bear Creek layout before dark as a Colorado School of Mines quartet took on tough D-I competition including golfers from Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, BYU, and Colorado State. No team scoring is being kept at the individual event.

After a mostly dreary day that included a period of afternoon rain, Nguyen is the top Oredigger on the leaderboard in a tie for 25th, shooting 77 in the morning and going two strokes lower with a second-round 75 to stand at +9. Samuelsson is 28th at +9 on rounds of 77 and 76. Óli Bjarkason and Mitch Stock are tied for 37th overnight at +16, with Bjarkason carding rounds of 83 and 77 and Stock two rounds of 80.

Only five players in the field are under par led by Oklahoma State's John Wild (-5) and BYU's Cooper Jones and Oklahoma's PJ Maybank (-3).

Tuesday's third round will begin with 11:30 a.m. tee times.
