Biography

2017: RMAC Academic Honor Roll member … Went 2-2 in 12 appearances with nine starts … Had a 7.26 ERA … Notched one save … In 53.1 innings, struck out 33 … Threw a complete game against CSU-Pueblo.

High School: Valerio  posted a 2.56 ERA and a 14-6 record during his career at Dakota Ridge High School. He posted 140 strikeouts in 136 innings while limiting opponents to a .236 batting average. As a senior, Valerio went 7-1 with a 2.35 ERA and, as a junior in 2012, posted a 3-3 record, a 2.23 ERA, and 43 strikeouts in 47 innings pitched. He also recorded three complete games, one shutout and limited opponents to a .213 batting average. He was named First Team All-League Class 5A Jefferson County on three occasions and earned Honorable Mention All-State Honors from the Denver Post during his junior and senior campaigns. He was selected as one of only 20 juniors to represent Junior Team Colorado at the 2012 Sunbelt Classic. He was also named the Dakota Ridge Scholar Athlete of the Year as a senior and was also named the DRHS Team MVP. He played club baseball for Lakewood Slammers Baseball, and intends to major in some form of engineering at Mines.
