Hamilton joined the Colorado School of Mines Baseball coaching staff in August of 2018. He enters his seventh season as an assistant coach in 2025.
During Hamilton's time on staff, Mines players have racked up 26 All-RMAC awards and 19 all-region awards with eight all-America nods and one MLB Draft Pick. Hamilton was on staff as Tyler Blomster won RMAC Pitcher of the Year, NCBWA South Central Region Pitcher of the Year, and D2CCA South Central Region Pitcher of the Year while also becoming the RMAC's all-time wins leader on the mound. Hamilton was also on staff for 2023 RMAC Pitcher of the Year Kevin Zapanta. Additionally, Hamilton has helped send one Oredigger into Major League Baseball's farm system with Walter Pennington's free-agent signing with the Kansas City Chiefs in the summer of 2020.
The Grand Junction, Colo., native served as an assistant coach for Bales at Thomas Jefferson High School and Ralston Valley High School following a successful collegiate playing career. Hamilton competed for two years at Otero Junior College before returning home and playing at then Mesa State College (now Colorado Mesa) where he earned 2011 All-RMAC Relief Pitcher honors and helped the Mavericks to the 2011 RMAC Tournament title.
Hamilton attended Fuita Monument High School and graduated from Colorado Mesa in 2012 where he majored in Sports Management. He also currently works fro Kroenke Sports & Entertainment in Denver.
