Tyler Thomas joined the Mines baseball staff in the fall of 2017 after a standout career on the mound for the Orediggers. Thomas works primarily with Mines' pitching staff.

For the Orediggers, Thomas was a staff leader compiling a 4-3 record with a 4.54 ERA as a senior in 2017, helping Mines to an appearance in the RMAC Tournament final with a career-high eight strikeouts against MSU Denver in the tournament. He was the RMAC Pitcher of the Week early in his senior season. Prior to Mines, Thomas spent two years at Lamar CC, where he was Second-Team All-Region IX as a sophomore and was 5-2 with a 2.41 ERA in 59.2 innings.
