Colorado School of Mines Athletics

Jacob Pope was named the head athletic trainer at Mines in August 2021 following a decade of service to the Orediggers as an assistant athletic trainer.

Pope arrived in Golden in the summer of 2011 as an assistant athletic trainer, and has worked with football, men's and women's cross country, and men's and women's track & field in that time. Pope's collegiate resume also includes two years (2009-10 and 2010-11) as a graduate assistant at Illinois State University. Pope, who worked with the Redbirds' football and track & field programs, earned his master's degree in athletic training in 2011.

Pope also worked as a student trainer while earning his bachelor's degree in athletic training at California State University, Northridge in 2009.

Pope, who played football at Crespi Carmelite High School in Encino, California, currently resides in Denver.
