Buck Wessell joined the Mines Wrestling staff in the 2022-23 season. Wessell’s background in judo spans decades as a competitor, coach, Olympic training partner in Sydney in 2000, and USA Judo Team Leader in 2004 in Athens. Wessell switched from concentrating on judo to wrestling when his sons Max and Axel began focusing on the sport and wrestled at Lehigh University. He coached wrestling at the high school level from 2007-2013 as well as coaching and grappling with professional MMA fighters at Elevation Fight Team and Genesis Training Academy since 2008.
