Louis Caputo joined the Mines wrestling staff in 2015-16 as an assistant coach.

Caputo was a three-year captain and two-time NCAA Division I All-American at Harvard, compiling a 126-35 career record and qualifying four times for the NCAA Championships. He ranks third all-time in wins for the Crimson, he won the 2007 EIWA championship at 184 lbs. and was a four-time all-Ivy League selection.

Internationally, Caputo made two junior world teams in freestyle and placed ninth at the 2007 Junior World Championships in Beijing. As a prep athlete, he was a three-time Missouri state champion and six-time cadet and junior national finalist in both Greco-Roman and freestyle.

Caputo earned his B.A. in environmental science and public policy from Harvard in 2010. Since 2013, he has coached the University of Colorado's club program, elevating to head coach in 2014 and earning UC's Sport Clubs Coach of the Year award in 2014-15 after coaching three NCWA national qualifiers.
