THE WEEKEND
Mines will hit the road for two RMAC duals at New Mexico Highlands on Friday and Adams State Saturday. The Orediggers hope to bounce back after a pair of losses to Colorado Mesa and Western State last week.
LAVENGOOD EARNS #1 PLAY OF THE WEEK
Matt Lavengood wrestled an all-timer against Colorado Mesa's Thomas Tawata last week, and his incredible comeback win earned him the
RMAC's #1 play of the week on Wednesday. Lavengood fell behind 14-3 in the match but scored 11 straight points to force overtime, where he earned a quick takedown to win 16-14.
RANKINGS
Mines was well-represented in last week's D2wrestle.com rankings. As a team, Mines remains #12 in Super Region 4 while receiving votes towards the national top 25.
Jacob Gerken bumped up one spot to #8 in the 149-pound national rankings, while four Orediggers earned regional spots:
Lukas Erickson at #7 at 141, Gerken at #2 at 149,
Keenan Willits at #7 at 165, and
Robert Gambrell at #7 at 174.

Robert Gambrell continues to have the team's best record at 18-3 this season, and he co-leads the team with
Jacob Gerken in dual points at 24. Gerken (11-5),
Noah Au-Yeung (11-10),
Ethan Ruby (10-5), and
Matt Lavengood (10-8) each have double-digit wins this year.
Jake Woods leads the team in pins with six.
