DENTON, Texas - #6 Colorado School of Mines fell victim to an early goal by Texas Woman's to fall 1-0 in their season opener.
Mines outshot the Pioneers 10-8, but Chelsea Martin's fourth-minute header off Jazmine Navarro's corner was the difference.
Giselle Sawaged led Mines with four shots.
Shannon Mooney made one save in her first career start, with Maddie Vickroy stopping two in the win.
Mines continues their Texas trip Sunday at Midwestern State.
