GOLDEN, Colo. – The Colorado School of Mines men's basketball team dropped a 83-79 heartbreaker to CSU-Pueblo Saturday as the Orediggers and ThunderWolves combined for 20 3-point baskets inside Lockridge Arena.
 
Mines (14-4, 8-4 RMAC) used an 18-2 run late in the first half to take a 41-24 lead into the break. However, CSU-Pueblo (9-10, 6-7 RMAC) battled back with 13 second-half 3-pointers to complete its comeback, upset victory over the Orediggers.
 
Brandon Lueders led Mines with an 18-point, 12-rebound double-double as he shot 9-of-13 from the field. Michael Glen (16 pts), Luke Schroepfer (12 pts) and Duke Douglas (10 pts) also scored in double digits for the Orediggers. Michael Glen was outstanding on defense for Mines with four blocks. CSUP's Jason Anderson led all scorers with 22 points while three other ThunderWolves each contributed four 3-point baskets.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
- Douglas has scored in double digits in three straight games. He is averaging 16.3 points a game over that span.
- Lueders' double-double is the first of his career as he recorded personal bests in rebounds and scoring.
- Glen has nine double-digit scoring games this season. As a freshman he is averaging 9.4 points per game.
- Glen's four blocks match his career high which he set earlier this season at Westminster on Dec. 30.
- Schroepfer has posted double-digit scoring performances in five of his last six games and has 1,054 career points.
 
STAT OF THE GAME
76.5 – CSU-Pueblo went 13-of-17 from 3-point range in the second half Saturday as it shot 76.5-percent from long range in the closing period.
