The Colorado School of Mines Baseball team (7-4, 3-1 RMAC) opens its toughest stretch of the season with seven games in six days as it welcomes CSU-Pueblo (9-8, 1-3 RMAC) to Jim Darden Field Friday for a four-game RMAC series. Friday's opener is slated for a 3 p.m. start with a doubleheader to follow Saturday at 12 p.m. Â The series finale is scheduled for Sunday at 12 p.m. Mines continues its home stand Tuesday and Wednesday with three nine-inning games in a nonconference tilt with Sioux Falls (0-7). The Orediggers and Cougars play a doubleheader Tuesday starting at 3 p.m. with the midweek finale Wednesday at 4 p.m. All games will have live stats and video at www.MinesAthletics.com.

ROUND ONE RECAP
Mines opened RMAC play with a bang last weekend, going 3-1 against New Mexico Highlands. The Orediggers took games one and two 8-1 and 14-3, respectively. After dropping game three 6-3, Mines bounced back for a 20-10 win and a series victory. On the weekend, Mines scored 45 runs on 51 hits with seven home runs.

SCOUTING THE THUNDERWOLVES
CSU-Pueblo arrives in Golden with an overall mark of 9-8 while sitting 1-3 in RMAC play. Despite dropping three games in its conference opener with MSU Denver, the Pack has wins over No. 5-ranked West Texas A&M (12-5) and regionally-ranked Angelo State (10-9, 3-2). As a team, CSU-Pueblo is batting .294 with 117 runs on 157 hits with nine home runs.

LOOKING AT THE COUGARS
Sioux Falls rolls into town a defeated 0-7. Yet to start conference play in the Northern Sun, the Cougars have lost to Drury, Rogers State and Metro State. The opposition will look to use the altitude at Jim Darden Field to improve its .204 batting average and three home runs on the season. Sioux Falls has scored 14 runs in seven games on 46 hits.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Senior starter
Drew Burman was name the RMAC Pitcher of the Week Tuesday thanks to his stellar performance against New Mexico Highlands. Burman (3-0) remained undefeated this season behind 7.0 innings of one-run, five-hit baseball in the Orediggers 8-1 win over the Cowboys. The Wyoming native struck out a career-high nine batters on the way to the first weekly honor of his career.

MASHING TATERS
Mines is currently ranked 10th in the country and first in the RMAC in slugging percentage at 0.556 on the season. The Orediggers have 15 home runs in 11 games which ranks 40th in NCAA Division II for total home runs and 26th in home runs per game. Both those marks are tops in the RMAC.

DOUBLE VISION
The Orediggers have the fourth-most doubles per game in all of Division II with 3.09 two-baggers per contest. With 34 on the season, Mines sits 26th in the nation in total doubles as

CONFERENCE STANDINGS
With one RMAC series in the books, Mines is tied for first in the conference standings with a mark of 3-1. Colorado Mesa, UCCS and MSU Denver also finished the opening weekend 3-1. Regis, CSU-Pueblo, New Mexico Highlands and Colorado Christian make up the bottom half of the standings at 1-3 all the way around. Adams State has yet to play a RMAC series.

STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE
Mines opponents this season have combined record of 47-29 with all but one opponent above the .500 mark. Central Missouri and Texas A&M-Kingsville are ranked No. 7 and No. 19 in the nation according to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll. St. Edward's joins the other two in the regional rankings at No. 10. Central Missouri sits first in the Central Region and Kingsville is third in the South Central Region.

REGIONAL POLLS
Head Coach
Jerod Goodale and the Mines baseball team are currently No. 9 in the South Central Region according to the NCBWA poll. The Orediggers opened the season at No. 9 and jumped up to No. 7 after their 2-1 start to the season. However, an inactive week due to weather dropped Mines out of the regional poll before their 3-1 series win over New Mexico Highlands put the Orediggers back into the top 10.Â
