GOLDEN, Colo. - #24 Colorado School of Mines got the new season off to a perfect start, rolling to a 53-0 shutout of Colby CC at Volk Gym.

The Orediggers (1-0) scored bonus points in eight of 10 wins including seven falls as they dominated the dual.

Weston DiBlasi, in his Oredigger debut, got Mines off to a flying starting with a pin at 2:05 after a 10-point first period, and Tyler Krause kept things rolling at 133 pounds with a 4-2 decision over Quentin Pauda. #7 Grayston DiBlasi earned Mines' second pin after working a dozen points in just the opening 1:30 before defeating Zane Lucksavage at 141.

Teague Dilbeck's 149-pound bout was broken open in the third period when he hit a nearfall-4 before he and Eric Cain reversed each other to end up with a 9-2 decision in Dilbeck's favor, and that would be the final win of the night for Mines without bonus points. Carter Noehre stuck Ignacio Velasco in 1:54, Jack Damenti earned a tech fall shutout, 15-0, over James Thomas at 165, and KJ Kearns, Ryan Cody, and Anderson Salisbury ran off a string of first-period pins the fastest being Salisbury's in 52 seconds. Anthony Atria punctuated the team scored with a second-period pin of Abdias Hernandez. 

Perry Rodenbeck also earned a fall in 1:22 in a 197-pound exhibition bout over Jamar Toston.

NOTABLES 
- It was Mines' most points scored in a dual since the 1985-86 season when they had a "perfect dual" winning 60-0 against Dubuque. 
- Mines worked its first dual shutout since the 2017-18 season when they blanked Northwest Tech 49-0. 
- Both Grayston DiBlasi and Salisbury earned their 11th career falls as the active team leaders. Salisbury is Mines' active wins leader overall with 64.
- Weston DiBlasi and Cody were making their Mines debuts. DiBlasi is a graduate transfer from Missouri while Cody is a redshirt freshman. 
- Mines improved to 2-1 all-time over the Trojans.
