#21 MINES WRAPS UP REGULAR SEASON AT HOME
#21 Colorado School of Mines will host two events this weekend to wrap up the regular season, closing out its dual schedule against CSU Pueblo on Saturday before hosting the annual Rocky Mountain Collegiate Open at Steinhauer Fieldhouse on Sunday. Saturday's dual will also include celebrations for Senior Day and the dedication of Volk Gymnasium's new Wall of Champions prior to the 1 p.m. meet. Saturday's dual will also stream live on the RMAC Network; live results of both events are available on Trackwrestling.com.

SENIOR DAY
Before Saturday's meet, Mines will honor its senior class of 2022 which includes Jack Damenti, Ryan Fidel, Aiden Funk, Nolan Funk, Weston Hunt, Zach Krause, Anderson Salisbury, and Mike True. The class has been a transformative one for Mines, helping the Orediggers win a pair of RMAC championships while making their mark on the national stage as well with three combined all-America honors and six combined NCAA national meet qualifications. Mines is 39-9 in duals over the last five seasons.

THE WALL OF CHAMPIONS
Volk Gym has a new feature with the Mines Wrestling Wall of Champions, a large display commemorating the program's rich history including national champions, all-Americans, and Mines Hall of Fame members as well as NCAA and RMAC championship banners. The project was spearheaded by the generosity of alumnus Ben Mares PE'73.

LAST TIME OUT
Mines dominated its dual at Chadron State last Sunday, winning nine weight classes in a 37-3 romp over an Eagles team that came in unbeaten in RMAC action. The Orediggers reeled off eight straight victories after the teams traded wins in the first two bouts. #5 Weston Hunt punctuated the dual with his 4-2 win over #10 Mason Watt on a last-second takedown, while Grayston DiBlasi, Carter Noehre, and Anderson Salisbury all had pins and Cody Thompson a major decision to rack up bonus points.

THE RMAC HUNT
Mines is in second place in the RMAC at 5-1, and a win Saturday would assure them of no worse than that spot. Colorado Mesa (6-0) leads the conference and has one final dual to wrestle against Western Colorado on Feb. 16; if CMU wins they would capture the RMAC championship, if they lose and Mines defeats CSU Pueblo, the two would share the title, potentially in a three-way split with Western if they can win their final two as well.

IN THE POLLS
Mines sits at #21 in the latest NWCA Division II team poll. Mines has two ranked individuals as Anderson Salisbury sits at #11 at 184 and Weston Hunt #5 at 285.

THE MINES VS. CSU PUEBLO SERIES
This will be the 33rd all-time meeting between Mines and CSU Pueblo with CSUP leading 22-10 all-time dating back to 1983. It's been a very competitive series in recent years as they two have alternated wins in the last six; the last time they met was on Valentine's Day 2020 when Mines won 26-20 to cap a perfect RMAC season.

LEADING THE WAY
This year's team is led by KJ Kearns, Zach Krause, and Anderson Salisbury, who were voted captains in the preseason. Kearns is a returning captain as a junior, while Krause is a first-time captain in his second season as a graduate transfer after arriving from Brown before the 2019-20 season. Salisbury is also a first-time captain in his redshirt senior season.

LOOKING AHEAD
The Orediggers' postseason begins Feb. 26 with the NCAA Super Region VI Championships at Colorado Mesa.
