NWCA Scholar All-America Team
MANHEIM, Pa. - Seven student-athletes from the Colorado School of Mines wrestling have been named Scholar All-Americans by the National Wrestling Coaches Association.
The NWCA recognized
Jack Damenti,
Grayston DiBlasi,
Ryan Fidel,
Weston Hunt,
KJ Kearns,
Perry Rodenbeck, and
Mike True for their academic and athletic success in 2021-22. Of the group, Damenti, Fidel, and Hunt are all three-time recipients of the honor, and Rodenbeck is a repeat winner.
In order for a student-athlete to be nominated to the Division II Scholar All-American Team, he must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale, with that benchmark at 3.25 for those who qualified for the 2022 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships and 3.0 for those who earned NCAA DII All-American status for the 2022 season. The athlete must also have competed in a minimum of four dates of competition.
