COLORADO SPRINGS - Cody Thompson's winning weekend for Colorado School of Mines has earned him the RMAC Wrestling of the Week award.

Thompson was the 149-pound Elite champion at the Younes Hospitality Open at Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday, going 5-0 in a tough bracket. Thompson picked up a fall, a major decision, and three wins by decision on the day, the biggest coming in the final where he defeated #12 John Burger of UNK, 13-6, with a sudden-victory takedown into a near-fall four. 

Thompson is 6-0 this season. It is the first career RMAC weekly honor for the redshirt sophomore from Loveland, Colo. 

Mines returns to action Nov. 30, hosting New Mexico Highlands in their RMAC dual opener at 6 p.m.
