DENVER - The 2022 national champion Colorado School of Mines men's cross country team was honored by the NCAA Sunday night during the March Madness games at Ball Arena in Denver.

In front of a crowd of 19,229, the Orediggers were recognized on-court at halftime of the Creighton-Baylor men's basketball game for capturing the program's third NCAA Division II team title since 2015. The 2022 team won by the largest margin in the history of the race scoring 43 points, dominating the field to beat Wingate by 134. Mines was led by the program's first-ever individual national champion, Dillon Powell, who stopped the clock on his 10K in 29:28.

All seven of the men in attendance on Sunday were all-Americans, the first time Mines had put all of its seven runners inside the top 40: Powell (1st), Duncan Fuehne (3rd), Loic Scomparin (10th), Luke Julian (13th), Chris Cathcart (23rd), Paul Knight (24th), and Steven Goldy (30th).
