GOLDEN, Colo. - #20 Colorado School of Mines improved to 4-0 on the young season, cruising to wins over Otero College and Fort Hays State University in a tri-meet at Volk Gym.
The Orediggers got past Otero 50-4 to start their evening, earning three pins and four technical falls, then won the first eight bouts en route to a 37-4 defeat of Fort Hays State to end the night.
In the neutral dual, Fort Hays State topped Otero 43-3.

Mines racked up bonus points in its nine bout wins to ease past Otero College 50-4 in the middle dual of the tri.
Christian Lopez set the tone with an 18-2 technical fall victory at 125 pounds and Mines never looked back, earning three pins and four techs in the meet.

Timber Parlin, and
Jeffery Morosini collected their first collegiate dual wins as Padilla,
Jaron Mahler,
Garrett Bakarich, and
Cade Whish all notched first-period falls.
Jakob Smith (22-7), Parlin (15-0), and Morosini (21-6) all won by technical fall along with Lopez, while
Grayston DiBlasi took a win by forfeit at 141 pounds.

#20 MINES 37, FORT HAYS STATE 4 [Full Scoring]
Mines won nine of 10 bouts including seven with bonus points as they earned the most lopsided win over Fort Hays State in the 66-year history of their series, 37-4.
The Orediggers put on a defensive clinic, not surrendering a takedown until the ninth weight class and producing five shutouts in all.
Lopez got things going with his second win of the night, a 9-0 major against AB Stokes, and
Trebor Moreno's pancake takedown into a fall to start the second period put Mines ahead 10-0. DiBlasi used a late tilt to turn a decision into a major beating Corbin White 8-0, and #1
Cody Thompson overcame a scoreless first period to beat Drew Bell 11-0 at 149.
Marcus Caro's third period escape was the only point of the 157-pound bout as he beat Marcell Dely 1-0, and Tristin Dvid produced three takedowns en route to his 11-1 major over Jacob Judd at 165.
Wyatt Reisz had four takedowns in his 15-4 major against Connor Padgett, and
Mason Diel was dominant in a 15-0 technical fall blanking of Matt Rodriguez that included three first-period nearfalls.
Mines' only setback came at 197 where
Ryan Cody suffered an 8-0 defeat to #8 Tereus Henry, but
Laith Ibrahim muscled points back in the win column as he outlasted Riah Ostrander 4-1 at heavyweight.
