Preseason All-RMAC Release
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado School of Mines has been selected third in the RMAC preseason wrestling coaches' poll, with
Jakob Smith and
Wyatt Reisz recognized as Preseason All-RMAC selections ahead of the 2025-26 season.
The Orediggers (13-2, 7-0 RMAC in 2024-25) are coming off an unbeaten RMAC season and return starting experience at eight weight classes led by Smith at 165 and NCAA qualifier Reisz at 174, along with 2024 national finalist and all-American
Cody Thompson returning from injury at 149.
Colorado Mesa was chosen as the top preseason team with three first- and three second-place votes, Adams State is second with three first-place and two third-place votes, and Mines is third with one first-, one second-, and three third-place nods. Western Colorado, Chadron State, CSU Pueblo, and New Mexico Highlands rounded out the poll, in that order.
Smith, a redshirt junior, was a 2025 First-Team All-RMAC selection going 14-6 at 165 pounds last year including 6-0 against the RMAC. He led Mines with seven falls and ultimately ended the season fourth at the NCAA Super Region VI Championships
Reisz, a junior, qualified for his first NCAA championships last year after a 23-6 season, going a perfect 10-0 in duals and 5-0 versus the RMAC to earn Second-Team All-RMAC status. He spent most of last season nationally ranked peaking at #11 as he finished third at the NCAA Regional meet to punch his ticket to Indianapolis.
The Orediggers begin the season Nov. 7 at home against Snow College with a 5 p.m. start.
