HAYS, Kan. - #25 Colorado School of Mines remained unbeaten on the season, cruising to dual wins over Fort Hays State and Ouachita Baptist on Saturday night.

The Orediggers (4-0, 1-0 RMAC) dispatched the host FHSU 36-8 to start the tri-meet, then beat OBU 37-6 to end the night. Brandon Cody pinned both of his opponents, Jakob Smith had a fall and tech fall, and #2 Cody Thompson impressed with a pair of techs to lead the Orediggers, with Coen Schmidt, Wyatt Reisz, and Mason Diel also winning both of their bouts.

Against Fort Hays State, Mines dropped the opener but reeled off seven consecutive wins after that with Izaiah Padilla winning by major decision at 133, Schmidt by decision at 133, and Thompson and Cody by tech fall and fall at 149 and 157, respectively. Smith earned a 19-3 tech fall at 165 before Reisz won 13-5 and Diel pinned his opponent to seal the team victory; Cade Whish added a victory at heavyweight, 1-0, scoring the lone point of the bout.

It was a similar story in Mines' first-ever meeting with Ouachita Baptist, producing five bonus-point wins including pins by Schmidt, Cody, and Smith. Jake Goodin got the Orediggers on the board with a dominating 16-0 technical fall at 125, and after OBU won at 133, the middle of Mines' lineup generated a whopping 23 points from the next four weight classes to blow the dual open. Reisz, Diel, and Cain Tigges added decisions at the upperweights.

Mines stays in Hays to compete in the Bob Smith Open on Sunday starting at 9 a.m. CT.
