The Friday match will also be played at 7 p.m., but in Volk Gym due to Mines Homecoming festivities. Neither match result will count in the conference standings. However, many teams around the league hope to bolster their resume for the NCAA tournament.

THREE DAYS AGO
Mines wrapped its weekend schedule just a few days ago after hosting Adams State on Friday and New Mexico Highlands on Saturday. Both results were 3-0 victories for the Orediggers, giving them their first RMAC wins and first home sweeps of the season. Friday's contest was all Jenna McLaughlin who put down 18 kills with zero attack errors while adding six total blocks. McLaughlin added 10 more kills against NMHU on Saturday and Francesca Nuzzo had 10 kills too and a double-double thanks to 11 digs. A 29-assist, 11-dig double-double by Hailee Martinez proved helpful in the winning effort. Also notable were three service aces by Avery Perreira, three blocks each for Amanda Donais Dudley and McLaughlin, and 11 digs by Donais Dudley.

CLUB 1K
On Friday evening, Amanda Donais Dudley's first kill of the match against Adams State marked the 1,000th kill of her collegiate career. She's just over 200 kills away from cracking Mines' all-time top-10 in career kills. The graduate student also boasts 101 service aces, 205 total blocks, and 833 digs.

SCOUTING COLORADO CHRISTIAN
Colorado Christian seemingly started its 2025 slow, going 1-3 at the Oredigger Volleyball Classic. However, a midweek, non-conference victory over then-#2 Angelo State sparked an eight-match win streak. The Cougars bring that streak to Golden after downing Chadron State, Regis, Black Hills State, and South Dakota Mines to start RMAC play. The home matches against CSC and RU went five sets. On the road in South Dakota, CCU handled business in straight sets. Individually, the Cougars tout a variety of weapons. On the attack, Connelly Kilgore boasts 125 kills, Suzanna Conner has 107 kills, and Renee Phillips owns 99 kills and a .336 attack percentage. Krista Traynor coordinates at setter with 350 assists. Kristina House owns the back row, as evidenced by 152 digs. Also notable on defense are 44.0 total blocks for Phillips.

OREDIGGERS AGAINST THE COUGARS
Mines leads the all-time series against Colorado Christian. 43-27. However, CCU has taken the last three meetings between the two teams. All three of those contests were during the 2024 season between the RMAC Regional Pod, RMAC Power Pod, and regular old RMAC play. The first two lasted four sets before the Cougars swept the Orediggers in Lakewood on Halloween. The last time Mines defeated Colorado Christian was Oct. 26, 2023. It was a 3-0 decision in Golden and Rose Stuewe had 12 kills on .409 hitting.

SCOUTING MSU DENVER
Since Mines and MSU Denver last met, the Roadrunners suffered just their second RMAC loss since the fall of 2021. The defeat was at #24 Colorado Mesa last Friday. The Mavericks needed just four sets to score the upset. MSU Denver quickly bounced back on Saturday and handled Westminster in four sets in Salt Lake City. Despite the loss, the Roadrunners are still ranked #8 in the nation according to the American Volleyball Coaches' Association (AVCA) thanks to their 9-2 (2-1 RMAC) record. As a team, MSU Denver still ranks #21 in the nation in hitting percentage. The efficient attack is led by the trio of Karyna Werley, Kryssa Moerman, and Alyssa Boyte who are all hitting over .300. Annika Helf is hitting under .300 but boasts 143 kills and 3.25 kills per set. Boyte touts 43 total blocks so far. Mia Accomazzo and Helf have combined for nearly 300 digs.

OREDIGGERS AGAINST THE ROADRUNNERS
Mines and MSU Denver already faced off on the volleyball court once this season in Golden. The Orediggers attempted a reverse sweep of the Roadrunners who were ranked #4 in the nation at the time. The upset bid fell just shy in a five-set heartbreaker. Even so, Amanda Donais Dudley, Jenna McLaughlin, and Tori Garrett all racked up double-digit kills, Donais Dudley worked 15 digs, Francesca Nuzzo had 18 digs, and Jada Price finished touting 17 digs. The loss moved Mines to 21-72 all-time against MSU Denver. The Roadrunners extended their win streak against the Orediggers to seven. Mines' last win against MSU Denver was a five-set thriller in the 2021 RMAC Tournament championship match when the Roadrunners were ranked #1 in the nation.

SHE'S BAAAAAACK
Amanda Donais Dudley played for the Mines from 2018-21 and was an all-American as a senior. She finished her bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and graduated in the spring of 2022. However, Donais Dudley still had a year of college eligibility remaining due to the COVID-19 pandemic. So, when she decided to come back to Mines for a master's degree in mechanical engineering, she decided to play some more volleyball. The 2025 season will be Donais Dudley's final collegiate campaign.

STANDING IN THE HALL OF FAME
Five-time all-American Danielle Johnson-Hazlewood was announced as a member of the Mines Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2025 over the summer. She will officially enshrined on Oct. 4. One of the most decorated players in Mines volleyball history, Johnson-Hazlewood is one of an elite few Orediggers in any sport to have been a four-year RMAC champion. She led Mines to the conference regular-season titles in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. Johnson-Hazlewood also helped the Orediggers win the RMAC Tournament title as a senior in 2015. Fans can read her entire Mines Athletics Hall of Fame profile HERE.

AT THE HELM
Head Coach Jamie Magalei is in her 18th season leading the Mines volleyball program. She is easily the program's all-time leader in total wins and win percentage at 372-142 (.723). Magalei surpassed 300 career wins in 2021. She's one of six to reach the milestone while coaching in the RMAC. Through 2024, Magalei has coached 31 all-America selections, three Academic All-Americans, and 66 all-conference performers. Her resume also includes three Regional Players of the Year, two Regional Freshmen of the Year, and 16 RMAC major award winners. Magalei has guided Mines to six RMAC regular-season championships, and five RMAC Tournament titles with 13 consecutive NCAA tournament appearances from 2009-22 (no NCAA tournament in 2020). The North Dakota native also guided the Orediggers to either a conference regular-season or tournament title every season from 2012-21 including a sweep of both in 2015.
