#22 Colorado School of Mines vs Simon Fraser [RMAC Network] [Live Results]

OREDIGGERS CLOSE REGULAR SEASON IN LOCKRIDGE ARENA
For the first time in more than a decade, #22 Colorado School of Mines (10-2, 5-1 RMAC) will wrestle at Lockridge Arena, the home of Mines basketball and volleyball, as they host Simon Fraser Friday night. The dual, which will serve as a tuneup for the NCAA regional championship meet in two weeks' time also at Lockridge Arena, marks the team's first appearance at Lockridge since the 2014-15 season when they hosted Cal Baptist and the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Open there. Friday's dual is set for a 6 p.m. start time.

tickets.minesathletics.com, with Mines students and employees eligible for free tickets by logging in with their Mines SSO. The entrance to Lockridge Arena is located at 1650 Elm Street, and parking is available across the street in Lot D (free after 5 p.m.)
Beginning this fall, the RMAC Network moved to a pay-per-view model for all events. Fans can purchase monthly and annual subscriptions that will provide them access to all regular-season, championship, and archived broadcasts on the RMAC Network. A monthly subscription costs $25, and an annual subscription costs $130. Single-game passes are available for $10, which grants access to a single event for 24 hours. THE CHAMPS ARE HERE
Mines won a share of their second consecutive RMAC title last Friday, beating CSU Pueblo 42-3 to improve to 5-1 in the league. The Orediggers ultimately split the championship with Adams State (who they beat 26-20) after the Grizzlies also finished 5-1 with a win on Feb. 11. It marks the fourth RMAC championship for Mines since 2019, all coming under Head Coach
Austin DeVoe.Â
LAST TIME OUT
Mines was unstoppable in a 42-3 win over CSU Pueblo last Friday, winning nine weight classes - eight with bonus points - to seal the RMAC championship.
Jake Goodin and
Wyatt Reisz won by fall while
Izaiah Padilla,
Cody Thompson, and
Brandon Cody had technical falls and
Deringer Hollenbeck,
Jakob Smith, and
Mason Diel major decisions.
Laith Ibrahim sent the fans home happy with a dramatic 4-1 overtime victory at heavyweight.
MINES READIES TO HOST NCAA REGIONALS
Tickets are now on sale for the NCAA Division II Super Region VI Championships, which will be hosted by Mines at Lockridge Arena, the home of Mines basketball and volleyball, on Feb. 28. The one-day, four-mat meet, which qualifies wrestlers to the national championships, is returning to Golden for the first time since 2017. Fans can reserve their spot at tickets.minesathletics.com.Â
IN THE RANKINGS
The NWCA released its latest rankings in late January and Mines slipped one spot to #22. Individually,
Cody Thompson is #3 at 149 pounds. In this week's OpenMat rankings, Thompson is #7 in his weight class along with
Jakob Smith (#15 at 174),
Wyatt Reisz (#17 at 184), and
Mason Diel (#19 at 197) also appearing.
THE HISTORY
Mines and Simon Fraser have met six times, with the Orediggers a perfect 6-0 since 2013. The Red Leafs were briefly a member of the RMAC until last season. Last year, Mines won 29-15 in Golden.
LEADING THE WAY
Heading into the conclusion of the regular season,
Marcus Caro (13-7) leads the team in wins overall with
Cody Thompson (11-1),
Brandon Cody (11-4) and
Deringer Hollenbeck (11-7) sitting on 11 wins each. Hollenbeck's six falls also lead the team. Thompson leads the team with 48 dual points and
Jakob Smith is right behind with 47.Â
THE 50-WIN CLUB
Cody Thompson is Mines' active career leader in wins at 59-18, and
Wyatt Reisz joined him in the 50-win club with his victory at Colorado Mesa, putting him at 52-17 in his third season at Mines. Reisz is 9-3 this season wrestling as he has moved up from 174 pounds to wrestle at 184 and 197 over the past month.

Austin DeVoe is in his 12th season in charge of the Mines Wrestling program, having rebuilt the Orediggers into a national contender with three RMAC titles, eight all-Americans, and eight Academic All-Americans in his tenure. With 95 dual wins under his belt, Mines has had seven consecutive winning dual seasons including the only three double-digit win seasons in program history, including tying the program wins record in 2022-23 with an 11-2 record and surpassing it with 13 in 2024-25. On the national stage, Mines has had team success as well including an 11th-place finish in 2022 which was the program's best finish since the 1990s.Â
LOOKING AHEAD
With the regular season concluded, the Orediggers will host the NCAA Super Region VI Championship meet on Feb. 28, which will also take place at Lockridge Arena.
