Selsor Leads Orediggers' 6-0 Charge Past Central Missouri

HOUSTON – Jace Selsor led the Colorado School of Mines Baseball team to a 6-0 victory over Central Missouri Sunday with his first home run of the season on the final day of the 2018 Houston Invitational.

Selsor went 4-for-5 at the plate with three RBI and two runs scored. He added a double to his home run and finished the day slugging 2.000. John Howard also recorded multiple hits, going 2-for-4 with two runs while driving in one.

On the mound, Drew Burman (1-0) made the first start of his career and got the win behind five innings of three-hit, shutout baseball. Toby Scoles, Jake Roberts, Jake Englehart, Drew Hill and Sam Slusser all appeared in relief to preserve the shutout. Central Missouri's Zach Girrens (0-1) was given the loss.

Selsor opened the scoring with his moon shot to right-center field in the top of the fourth inning to give Mines (2-1) a 1-0 lead. Selsor made it 2-0 in the fifth frame with a RBI-double and Daniel Ciraula capped a three-run sixth with a RBI-triple. Central Missouri (1-2) scattered five hits over nine innings and had one baserunner thrown out at home on a throw from Burman to Mikey Gangwish.
