INDIANAPOLIS – The Colorado School of Mines Men's and Women's Swimming teams closed day three of the NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships on Thursday evening with the Oredigger women earning an all-America finish in the 400-medley relay.
Kerrigan Hemp,
Jordan Tierney,
Annie Osmun, and
Jorie Selig teamed up to finished #14 in the nation for Second-Team All-America status. The quartet worked together and touched the wall in 3:46.56. They are the first women's relay for Mines to earn all-America honors since 2020. It is also the first women's 400-medley relay to finish all-America in the Orediggers' NCAA era. The last Mines women's 400-medley relay to earn all-America distinction was Tracey Vowel, Jane Hallenback, Terry Taylor, and Greta Kuhl in 1986.
The relay finish for the women gave Mines six more team points and pushed the Oredigger total to nine for the week. That's good enough for #24 in the nation through three days of action. Mines' men have three teams points and are #26 in NCAA Division II with two more days of swimming remaining.
Other Oredigger action for the day came in the morning session.
Annie Osmun earned a national finish of #24 in the 100-fly with a time of 56.79.
Charles Burroughs broke his own program record with a 100-fly time of 48.22. That tied him for #21 in the nation.
Ronan Lauinger's 400-IM of 4:01.48 put him #28 in all of NCAA Division II. In the 200-free,
Meghan Slowey took #43 for the women in 1:53.84 and
Garrett Waite finished #33 for the men with a time of 1:39.82.
Oredigger action continues Friday morning with prelims at 10 a.m. (ET). Finals will go off at 6 p.m. (ET) and include at least one Mines relay. Fans can watch each race live at
