GOLDEN, Colo. - Colorado School of Mines cruised in its season debut, blanking Snow College 52-0 behind nine bonus-point victories at Volk Gym.

The Orediggers (1-0) opened 2025-26 on a high note getting four pins and five technical falls in the dual.

Freshman Jake Goodin opened the dual with his 36-second pin over Eugenio Perez, and Izaiah Padilla earned another first-period fall at 133 over Dagen Lamano. Another freshman, Ryan Espiritu, picked up an impressive 18-3 technical fall at 141 before #3 Cody Thompson made his return to the mat with a sterling 15-0 shutout of Josiah Wickard at 149, his 50th career win.

Jaron Mahler and Jakob Smith posted back-to-back falls at 157 and 165, respectively, and Wyatt Reisz and Mason Diel each gave up only a single escape in technical falls at 174 and 184. Freshman Cain Tigges showed grit in a comeback 8-4 decision over Kenneth Phillips at 197, and #10 Laith Ibrahim scored at will in the heavyweight bout, beating Porter Wright 19-3 with five takedowns. 

The meet featured seven exhibition bouts prior to the main dual, all won by Orediggers including Jake Goodin's impressive 15-second pin at 125 and first-period falls from Ryan Espiritu and Timber Parlin at 141 and 197, respectively. Goodin won both of his matches by fall in a combined 51 seconds, with Espiritu and Tigges also doubling up in wins. 

Mines will host the Rookie Open Sunday at Steinhauer Fieldhouse starting at 10 a.m.
