GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Jordan Tierney brought home her second gold medal of the 2024 RMAC Swimming & Diving Championships on Saturday as the Oredigger men and women closed out their trip to the conference meet.

Tierney struck gold in the women's 200-breast thanks to a record-shattering time of 2:15.8. That performance toppled her own Mines record by nearly three seconds and pushed her to #4 in NCAA Division II this season. She already had a conference title in the 100-breast from Friday night. While Tierney stole the spotlight for the evening, it was the women's 400-freestyle relay that clinched a successful day. Two different quartets featuring Emi Jedryka, Savannah Karas, Sophia Buhr, Sarah Bennett, Tierney, Olivia Kisow, Jorie Selig, and Kylie VanderMeer worked together to total 48 points and edge Simon Fraser for #2 in the team standings. The Oredigger women finished with team silver thanks to 637.5 points. Mines' men also earned team silver thanks to 689 points. Colorado Mesa swept the team titles.

Scoring on the last night of the conference championships started with the top heats of the 1650-free. Isabella Bono and Julia Gill added 18 points to the women's total. The men's distance race saw Joseph Lev-Tov take silver in a time of 15:46.97 which ranks top-10 in NCAA Division II this season. Lucas Hoke, Jaron O'Grady, Andres Saa, and Scott Reeder added 24 more points to the men's score as well.

After the mile, the Orediggers continued stacking up points in the shorter distances. Annie Osmun, Jorie Selig, Sarah Bennett, and Kylie VanderMeer combined for 24 points in the 100-free. Osmun added another NCAA "B" cut as well. The men's 100-free featured 27 pointsfrom Garrett Waite, Michael Kietzman and Seth Krause with Waite and Kietzman posting national times. Emi Jedryka and Kerrigan Hemp totaled 17 points in the 200-back. Luca Burns and Max Waring gave the Oredigger men 12 points in the same event.

In the final half of the evening, Cameryn Schmidt, Olivia Kisow, and Zooecia Phoebus joined Tierney in the 200-breast and scored 17 points. Charles Burroughs, Jack Engler, Gavin Gilmore, Ronan Lauinger, and Gavin Moore stacked up 41 points in the men's 200-breast. Finally, Kietzman, Krause, Bradent Hunt, and Waite finished Second-Team All-RMAC in the men's 400-freestyle relay for 30 more points. Moore, Saa, Engler, and Jakson Winn brought in 10 points on the second men's relay.

With the 2024 RMAC Swimming & Diving Championships complete, Mines will look at the Maverick Last Chance next weekend for final qualifying opportunities.
