GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Saturday morning saw the Colorado School of Mines Men's and Women's Swimming teams punch 22 more tickets to finals on the last day of the 2023 RMAC Swimming & Diving Championships.

Mines' men and women combined to earn 10 berths in the "A" finals with 12 headed to the "B" finals as early heats of the 1650-free finals were competed as well. There was also one NCAA time from the morning session.

The final session of the RMAC Championships on Saturday evening will begin at 5 p.m. and include finals in the 1650-free, 100-free, 200-back, 200-breast, and 400-freestyle relay. All action will stream live, and for free, on the RMAC Network.

100-Freestyle
The 100-free prelims were chalk full of Orediggers. Jorie Selig and Annie Osmun were at the top of the group as they swam into the "B" finals. Selig touched in 53.05 and Osmun touched in 53.07. Kylie VanderMeer finished #18 in 54.01. Maggie Wells was #19 at 54.14. Savannah Karas rounded out the contingency of Mines women at #26 thanks to a time of 54.93.

Orediggers also stuffed the start lists for the men's 100-free. Garrett Waite led the way thanks to an "A" finals time of 45.56. The quartet of Michael Kietzman (46.13), Seth Krause (46.29), Sam LaPrade (46.38), and Jakson Winn (46.59) earned tickets to the "B" finals. Joe Peak joined the 100-free fun by finishing #18 in a time of 47.13. Nick Delany swam an exhibition and finished in 46.66.

200-Backstroke
After a record-setting Friday, Kerrigan Hemp was back to her backstroking ways. While she didn't break the program record in the 200-back, she did make reservations for the evening in the "A" finals with a time of 2:04.47. Emi Jedryka and Emma Neuroth raced into "B" finals thanks to a 2:06.93 pace and 2:12.81 clip, respectively.

Braden Whitmarsh was the men's top backstroker in the morning. He punched an "A" ticket by touching the wall in 1:50.84. Luca Burns (1:51.89) put himself in the "B" finals. Josh Lee (2:00.90) and Max Waring (2:07.78) swam exhibitions.

200-Breaststroke
The 200-breast was easily Mines' best event of the morning. Jordan Tierney turned in a NCAA "B" time of 2:20.41 while Camery Schmidt went 2:24. 09 and Olivia Kisow finished in 2:24.26 to earn seeds #3, #4, and #5. Claire Lautman made it a quartet of Orediggers in the "A" finals as she grabbed the #7 seed at a pace of 2:25.22. Ava Burger also gave herself a chance to tally points at the night session, taking a spot in "B" finals with a time of 2:29.00.

Mines' men put Jack Engler (2:05.74), Gavin Gilmore (2:06.61), and Ronan Lauinger (2:06.92) inside the top eight for "A" berths. Gavin Moore (2:07.37) and Charles Burroughs (2:09.98) guaranteed more team points with tickets to the "B" finals. Nathan O'Neil (2:09.28), Joe Hutchinson (2:12.50), and Nick Delany (2:12.66) all appeared in exhibition.

200-Butterfly
Savannah Karas earned Second-Team All-RMAC honors by finishing #4 in the 200-fly after touching in 2:09.74. Kylie VanderMeer was right there at #5 thanks to a time of 2:09.87. Twelve more points came from the arms of Sophia Buhr who finished #7 in 2:10.98 as Mines had all three swimmers in the "A" finals.

The medal count grew for the men thanks to Charles Burroughs who claimed RMAC silver on a NCAA "B" cut of 1:48.65. That also gave him First-Team All-RMAC distinction. Orediggers rounded out the rest of the All-RMAC honors as well, all with NCAA-qualifying times. Jaron O'Grady was #3 in 1:50.42. Joe Peak grabbed #4 at a pace of 1:50.85. Both were named Second-Team All-RMAC. Overall, the Oredigger men tallied 48 team points in the 200-fly.

1650-Freestyle
Mines had no women in the early final heats of the 1650-free. On the men's side, Scott Reeder was the #1 finisher in the morning session thanks to a time of 16:20.51. His final standing will be determined after the evening finals. Jaron O'Grady also took #5 in 16:28.37.
